Kate Spencer's exit Coronation Street

Kate Spencer made her debut on November 2019, on Coronation Street as Grace Vickers, Michael Bailey's (Ryan Russell) ex-girlfriend. She was introduced as a complex character whose storyline involved emotional conflict, deceit and redemption.

At first, Grace went back to Weatherfield and said that a friend's newborn was her and Michael's daughter, but this deception soon came to light. Later, in 2021, she gave birth to Glory, their real daughter. The tumultuous relationship between Grace and Michael ultimately resulted in her departure from the program in December 2021.

In a dramatic double-bill episode, Grace was written out after giving up her parental rights to Glory in return for cash from Michael's parents, Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) and Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw).

Her character on the show left with packed bags, and was not killed off, so there is still hope that she may return to reprise her role someday in the future.

Kate Spencer wrote on X about her role as Grace Vickers as she departed the show:

"Grace Vickers: Babies, blackmail, fraud, prison, labour and slamming many a door. A hell of a lot of bad choices. But a hell of a lot of fun to play. Thanks @itvcorrie, 10 year old me would never have believed it. It's been a privilege to be a small part of your story #corrie".

After her exit from the soap in later 2021, Kate Spencer shifted into theatre and also took on an acting part at the last minute in Derby Theatre's theatrical production of Alex Wheatle's Home Girl:

“From working on the Box Office to rehearsing on stage an hour later. I may have sweated through my leggings, but the smile says it all. A whirlwind couple of days but a joy to join the company of #HomeGirl.”

Kate Spencer now prepares to become a mother with her husband, Paul Walker.
