It seems like Kim Kardashian’s dream of working in law is going to materialize soon. During the latest episode of The Graham Norton Show, the 45-year-old socialite and businesswoman said she would receive her bar exam results soon. For the uninitiated, in 2018, she began her apprenticeship with a San Francisco-based law firm. She said:
“I have a few projects coming up — I film my first movie in January, and we are hoping for a season 2 of All’s Fair. I always want to be growing, curious and evolving, and I want to see wherever that takes me.”
Kim Kardashian went on to say:
“I will be qualified in two weeks. I hope to practice law. Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K and be a trial lawyer. That’s what I really want.”
In May 2025, Kim completed her graduation in the law course. According to People Magazine, it took her two more years to finish the study due to the COVID-19 pandemic and her work commitments. Sharing glimpses of her graduation ceremony on her Instagram stories, Kim Kardashian wrote:
“I finally graduated law school after six years!!!”
At the time, her sister, Khloe Kardashian, shared a story writing that she was proud of her sister. She also mentioned:
“I mean, I cannot believe this is years and years in the making. I'm so proud of her. This was just such a cool accomplishment, and I'm so proud.”
Looking back at Kim Kardashian’s old interview about pursuing a legal career
In 2019, Kim Kardashian sat down with lawyer and CNN host Van Jones to discuss why she wants to become a lawyer. She said much of the credit went to Jones because he introduced her to some good lawyers. When Jones asked about the real reason she wanted to pursue this field, Kim said:
“You know, when I did go to the White House and when I learned so much about the system and what is going on deep into the system, I was honestly so surprised. I really had no idea how broken the system is and I just figured if I know more about this system, I can do more for the system and That’s just the type of person I am.”
At the time of the interview, she was married to Kanye West. When Jones asked about West’s reaction to her new way of life that involved studying even during the weekends, Kim Kardashian said he stepped up. According to her, he took care of the kids. She said:
“And I am so grateful for him for doing that because we made this decision together as a family where I said, ‘You know what? I have my full-time filming job. I have my beauty business. I work full-time and I am gonna take on another 18 hours a week that’s required.”
Kim Kardashian said many did not clearly understand what she wanted to do at the time. They thought she was only preparing for the bar. Van Jones explained that it was a different approach. She wasn’t attending a law school but instead apprenticing with real lawyers regularly to prepare for the bar exam.
