The family feud between singer Keke Wyatt and her son, Rajah Ke' Morton, has gone viral after Rajah, who was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was 13, revealed that his mother told him his condition was “karma” for being gay.

Morton, who is now 23, shared his traumatic experience on TikTok's "Put a Finger Down" challenge. According to his video, Wyatt told him behind his back that his disease was a kind of retaliation for belonging to the LGBTQ+ community and that she exploited his cancer diagnosis for "personal gain and attention."

In the video clip, Morton said:

“Put a finger down if you were diagnosed with cancer as a teenager and your parent decided to publicly announce your diagnosis for personal gain and attention, but behind the scenes saying that your diagnosis is karma for you being apart of the Alphabet mafia.”

As soon as Morton said that, he folded his thumbs as he lifted the four fingers to make his point clear.

Keke Wyatt responded to the claims on Instagram shortly after they became widely known. The singer of Nothing In This World, emphasized her love for all of her children and denied having any homophobic views. She wrote on Instagram:

“I love my son, and I love all of my children. I love all people. Anyone who truly knows me understands there is not a homophobic bone in my body.”

She added:

"Like any parent, every day is not sunshine but my love for my children never changes. I kindly ask that you respect our family, keep us in your prayers, and allow us the privacy to move forward in peace.”

When was Rajah Ke' Morton diagnosed with cancer?

At the age of 13, Morton was diagnosed with leukaemia, and it was revealed to the world in 2017 by his mother on Instagram when Keke Wyatt asked her followers to pray for her kids when she shared the news at the time. Since Morton had lost his hair while undergoing treatment, she also said that she would shave her head in solidarity. She wrote at the time:

“Haven’t really said too much about my personal life, but my child has been fighting cancer and lost all of their hair that they loved. It hurts me so bad. I need a complete healing for my baby.”

Speaking on YouTube along with her son, Keke described receiving the diagnosis, stating:

“That was the scariest crap I had ever been through in my life. If there was ever a time in my life where I would lose my mind, that would be the day.”

Keke Wyatt announced Rahjah's cancer-free status on Instagram in 2020, saying:

“NO MORE CANCER!!! GOD HEALED MY BABY!!!"

Since the claims went viral, some fans revisited scenes from Keke Wyatt's World, and there were clips of Wyatt's mother, Lorna Wyatt, shouting racial and homophobic remarks at Morton. This created a fallout between the two.
