Sir Rod Stewart is scheduled to play at the Glastonbury Festival 2025, on June 29. However, ahead of his Glastonbury performance, the 80-year-old artist has cancelled two concerts this week, as he recovers from a bout of flu.

Stewart cancelled his June 5 concert at The Colosseum theatre at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas. Sharing an update on Instagram, Rod Stewart wrote on Instagram post:

"I'm awfully sorry to have to cancel my show on June 5th at The Colosseum at Ceasars Palace. My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding."

This comes after Sir Rod, on June 2, explained that he wasn't "feeling well" and cancelled a show, rescheduling it to June 10. Stewart has cancelled multiple shows this year, as he struggles with his health. In January, he cancelled three concerts after suffering from both strep throat and COVID. In May, after a concert, the artist was seen with a sign around his neck, which read,

"Sory, cannot talk. Having vocal rest."

Will Sir Rod Stewart perform at Glastonbury 2025?

While Sir Rod Stewart has not made any comments about his upcoming June 29 Glastonbury performance, fans remain concerned about his ongoing health issues, as the artist has cancelled 2 shows this week, after suffering from a bout of flu.

Stewart has been performing at the Glastonbury Festival since he headlined the show in 2002, and on 26 November 2024, announced that he's "ready" to perform once again. As per the Glastonbury Festival website, Stewart had stated:

"I'm proud, ready and more than able to pleasure and titilate my friends at Glastonbury in June."

Earlier, during an appearance on the BBC Sounds podcast, Sidetracked by Glastonbury, the British rock icon was questioned by hosts Nick Grimshaw and Annie McManus on what being dubbed a "legend" signifies. Steward, while responding, admitted that while he "deserved" the honour, he didn't entirely feel good about his performance given the "tea-time slot" label:

"I don't mind, I think I deserve it. I just wish they wouldn't call it the tea-time slot."

In November 2024, Sir Rod Stewart had earlier stated that his One Last Time Tour will be the last time he will be doing a "large-scale world tour." However, despite health and age concerns, the artist had expressed that he has "no desire to retire" since he loves what he does, and would like to move on to a "Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour" with "smaller venues and more intimacy."
