The star revealed that it was seeing fans hold up ‘The bald John Cena' signs that led him to see what his options were. He admitted,

“I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 men suffer from thinning or baldness. If somebody’s going to sweat me for that, I don’t think there’s any shame in that. It completely changed the course of my life,"

After undergoing the surgery, John Cena is apparently following a proper routine of red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, and conditioner. As for the procedure itself, he shared,

“They (the hair transplanters) don’t do anything except move your hair, one by one, from one area to another."

John opened up about how the procedure not only boosted his confidence but also his career.

“A different hairstyle can identify a part that can get me more work, do the thing I love to do." adding about his role in the show Peacemaker, "This (Peacemaker) has changed my life. It’s a great show that’s more than just action. It’s a love story. It’s a workplace comedy."

John Cena also announced in 2024 that he’d be retiring from WWE at the end of this year, stating,

“I’m not as strong or as fast as I used to be,” adding that his “health and my dedication to my partner are the tip of my spear in life right now, so I think every time I go out (in the ring), I just want to make sure I’m able to give my all, but it’s time to step away.”

The second season of the show, in which Cena plays the titular lead role, will debut this month on HBO Max.
