In a surprising turn of events surrounding Garrick Merrifield's recent arrest, it has now emerged that the Seeking Sister Wife star reportedly threatened to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on his wife Lorrana, who hails from Brazil. As reported by TMZ on November 26, Lorrana Merrifield allegedly told police that Merrifield first snatched her phone, during an argument, not allowing her to contact her family based in Brazil. Moreover, when she wanted to call the police, Garrick reportedly threatened to call ICE.

Lorrana, as a result, left the Merrifield household soon after delivering her first baby. She later confessed to not knowing the local laws but confirmed she had a valid K1 visa.

Garrick and Lorrana Merrifield tied the knot in October last year and welcomed their first child in July this year. Continuing from the TMZ coverage, Lorrana Merrifield had looked up on reaching out to the police online before Garrick reportedly found out when allegedly deactivating the wireless access on her phone.

As per Sheriff's office, Garrick was booked in Colorado's Chaffee County and his now release on bail. He was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and obstructing telephone service.

It was revealed towards the end of the previous season that Garrick's first Dannielle was expecting almost a decade after giving birth to her last child. The new addition had caused a dent in the couple's finances at the time.

In a video shared to Instagram in December last year, she wrote,

“I just feel pressed to share … I started serving again to help out my family financially. I felt God led me to do that. And it’s been a blessing. I started doing it about, like, six weeks ago or so.”

In a November 17 interview with the PEOPLE Magazine, Garrick had opened about navigating coparenting with his wives, Danniele and Lorrana Merrifield. He opined,

“Coparenting as a plural family has been wonderful, to have all the support and be there for each other. It’s a blessing to have all of our family involved helping each other. It’s definitely allowed us to do different things.”

Speaking about spending time with the other wife, he explained,

“Lorrana and I have been able to go on trips when Dannielle took the kids, and vice versa Lorrana is taking the kids so Dannielle and I are able to celebrate our anniversary.”
