The Try Guys scandal involving Ned Fulmer has resurfaced amid Astronomer Chief Executive Andy Byron’s Coldplay concert incident.

For those unaware, an X user referenced the infamous 2022 controversy while reacting to the news of the tech CEO’s resignation. The viral tweet mentioned Edward Gallo "Ned" Fulmer’s exit from the entertainment group after he was found to be in a relationship with a colleague. The user wrote,

“people saying ‘i don’t support cheating but they shouldn’t have to lose their jobs over it’ weren’t around for the try guys debacle of 2022.”

Ned Fulmer has not been active on any of his social media accounts since 2022. However, according to his LinkedIn, the content creator is self-employed and serves as the CEO of Fulmer Media Inc. Ned’s profile states that he “negotiated with C-suite executives” to strike a deal for the Try Guys IP purchase from BuzzFeed. It also mentions,

“[Ned] Led Business Development, Revenue, and Creative Operations for 8M subscriber Try Guys YouTube Channel (2018–2022).”

As Fulmer Media CEO, Ned also collaborated with brands like "Target, Google, Samsung, and Hyundai" through consulting and running ad campaigns. At the same time, he executive-produced projects for various networks and platforms such as "Food Network, YouTube Premium, Facebook Watch, and Discovery+."

The controversial content creator was part of a quartet that also included Keith :, Zach Kornfeld, and Eugene Lee Yang. Together, they created The Try Guys, an entertainment group, and produced content for BuzzFeed as company employees. In 2018, they launched 2nd Try LLC and The Try Guys YouTube channel.

However, in September 2022, speculation about Ned’s involvement in the group’s projects began making the rounds on social media. A Reddit user made claims about Fulmer’s extramarital affair. After the rumors emerged, The Try Guys confirmed their fourth member’s departure in a statement:

“Ned Fulmer is no longer working for the Try Guys. As a result of an internal review, we do not see a path forward together. We thank you for your support as we navigate through this change.”

Ned Fulmer was accused of having an affair with one of the producers of the show, Alexandria Herring. The ex-Try Guys member also issued a statement via Instagram in a now-deleted post (via Cosmopolitan):

“Family should have always been my priority, but I lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship. I’m sorry for any pain that my actions may have caused to the guys and the fans but most of all to Ariel. The only thing that matters right now is my marriage and my children, and that’s where I am going to focus my attention.”

Keith, Zach, and Eugene also shared an elaborate statement in an October 2022 YouTube video, stating that they were alerted by multiple fans about Ned Fulmer and Alex Herring’s affair after they were seen “engaging in public romantic behavior.” The trio revealed they checked on the employee and added:

“Ned confirmed the reports and since confirmed that this had been going on for some time, which was obviously very shocking to us. And we just want you to know that we had no idea this was going on. All of that information was just as shocking to us as all of this has been for you this week.”

The Try Guys co-creators asserted that they “refused to sweep things under the rug.” Ned Fulmer was removed from the group following a three-week process, and multiple videos featuring him were edited. They continued:

“There are several videos that we've deemed as fully unreleasable. You will never see them, and that is due to his involvement. And that's a decision that has cost us lots of money. We will not be able to recoup that money, but it's a decision we stand by proudly.”

Keith, Zach, and Eugene confirmed that they “signed a written consent form from the members of Second Try LLC” to remove Ned Fulmer on September 16, 2022. The decision wasn’t announced publicly for a few more weeks, but The Try Guys confirmed it after escalating online speculation and rumors. They said:

“We were obviously incredibly shocked and deeply hurt by all of this. This is someone who we'd built a brand and a company with for eight years. We feel saddened, not just personally, but on behalf of our staff and our fans who believed in us.”

They continued:

“We're losing a friend, we're losing someone we built a company with, we have countless memories with. We just made a TV show together. I'm sure many of you feel the same way. It's weird. We're sorry that this ever happened, and we don't know what more to say.”

The controversy also made its way to TV with a Saturday Night Live sketch parodying The Try Guys’ statement. Ever since the scandal was made public, Ned Fulmer has kept a low profile, while the other three members continued together until 2024, when Eugene Lee Yang later left.
