Ramona Singer once shooed away an A-list celebrity after mistaking her for a fan.
The Real Housewives of New York City star took to her Instagram Stories to share a video of herself recounting the tale where she ignored Emma Roberts, 34. The actress, 68, said in the video:
“So guess who I ran into!” She then panned the camera to Roberts. “She wanted to say ‘hi’ to me. I said, ‘Not now!'”
Roberts said she was a “big fan” of Singer as she mimicked the way Ramona Singer tried to brush her off:
“She said, ‘Get away! No!'”
In the video, Ramona Singer credited her daughter, Avery Singer, with helping her fix the mistake. The 30-year-old burst into the frame and recalled telling the Bravo star:
“You need to immediately go fix it because you have no idea who you just shooed away.”
However, she ended up apologizing to Roberts herself:
“[I said], ‘Excuse me, I really would like to apologize on behalf of my mother.'”
Roberts ended the clip by declaring that they are all besties now:
“Now we’re BFFs — all of us!” she said.
Ramona Singer gets candid about disliking fame, says it's not "great"
According to the Daily Mail, Emma Roberts is a known Real Housewives fan and is even friends with Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay. As for Ramona Singer, last year, she got candid about disliking the fame that came with her role as she admitted to being happier since she left television.
The actress, who was an original member of the show when it aired in 2008, was axed in its reboot in 2021. In the years since, she has been subject to a wave of controversy over her alleged "racial hostility." Speaking with Us Weekly in November 2024, she revealed:
“I never liked being famous. Isn’t there a saying, ‘fame isn’t what it’s all cracked up to be?’ I don’t think I was really famous, but I guess I was sort of.”
She also recalled an instance during her vacation with her former husband, Mario Singer:
“I was on vacation once with my ex-husband, and [people] were in the trees, taking photos,” she said. “I don’t think fame is great, but I guess you have to get famous to be successful in entertainment.”
In October 2022, Ramona Singer was accused of using the N-word in a bombshell article from Vanity Fair. She allegedly said it to a Black crew member on the set of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. News broke the following year that she allegedly used it once again, Page Six reported.
Nonetheless, she told the Daily Mail in March 2023 that life was more relaxing for her after leaving the small screens:
“I haven't been on TV in two years now and I'm more relaxed now, I'm happier,” she said. “I don't have to deal with negative things being put out there that isn't true.”
She added:
“For me, it is like the ship has passed now when it comes to me being on [the show]. Life is like a shark, you've got to keep moving forward. I have some many things in the works to look forward to.”
