Author Jack Schlossberg, grandson of the 35th US President, John F. Kennedy, is seemingly upset with Donald Trump.
On October 23, he shared two throwback photos on Instagram. One of the photos is of a little John F. Kennedy Jr. in the garden of the White House. The other photo in the carousel is that of the renovations being carried out in the White House. In the caption, Jack wrote:
“My grandmother saw America in full color - Trump sees black and white. Where she planted flowers, he poured concrete. She brought life to the White House, because our landmarks should inspire and grow with our country. Her Rose Garden is gone, but the spirit of the Kennedy White House lives on - in the young at heart, the strong in spirit, and in a new generation answering the call to service.”
Jack Schlossberg’s post continued:
“A year from now, we’ll get our last chance to stop Trump. History is watching. We need leaders with courage, conviction and who actually care.”
The part of the White House named after Jack Schlossberg’s grandmother is the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden. Through this renovation, Trump wants to construct a new ballroom worth $300 million. However, he has been criticized for making this decision. Hilary Clinton criticized the ongoing renovation in an X post, writing:
“It’s not his house. It’s your house. And he’s destroying it.”
Speaking about the construction of the ballroom, Trump previously said that the new structure would have a view of the Washington Monument and would be close to the current building without touching it. He said it would fully respect the existing one.
Jack Schlossberg looked back on his grandfather’s legacy in September 2024
In September 2024, Jack Schlossberg was a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. During the show, Jack said that being part of his family meant a lot to him. He said he felt honored by the legacy of their public service. Kimmel asked if he was expected by his family to be in the public service, to which he said:
“Definitely not. I think that my parents are supporting no matter what I choose to do even if it is making crazy videos on Instagram about politics.”
When Kimmel asked if people told him stories about his grandfather, Jack said:
“Yeah, well I think President Kennedy's Legacy is still alive today I think he continues to inspire generations of Americans. He inspires me. He's my hero and I think I know for a fact that he inspires some of the political leaders that are in power today that I really admire.”
Jimmy Kimmel wanted to know more about the videos Jack Schlossberg put on TikTok. He said that his videos were aimed at bringing some “levity” and “humor” to political issues that are deemed serious. He said:

Speaking about the election at the time, Jack Schlossberg said that the issues at hand were important because they were about the future of the country. Nevertheless, he said he did not subscribe to Trump’s idea of the future he promised.
