Who is Al Roker married to? All we know as the Today newsman goes on a double date with fellow host Savannah Guthrie

Journalist Albert Lincoln Roker Jr., also known as Al Roker, was reportedly on a double date with fellow host Savannah Guthrie. Roker’s wife and ABC journalist Deborah Roberts shared a photo on her Instagram.

In the photo, Roker and Roberts were seen with Guthrie and her husband, Michael Feldman. The post was captioned:

“Summer fun! New York state of mind! #summer.”

According to TV Insider, the photo was taken on a rooftop from where a glimpse of New York was seen. Savannah Guthrie reshared Roker’s Instagram post on her story, captioning it:

“Best. ever.”

Roker and Deborah Roberts have been in marital bliss for almost 30 years, and their anniversary is coming in September. Similarly, Guthrie and Feldman celebrated a decade of staying married last year.

The couple first met in 1990 when Roberts joined NBC. Roberts and Al Roker tied the knot in 1995. They have two kids: Nick and Leila. Earlier this year, Roker was honored by the Television Academy. At the time, he said:

“This recognition really is truly the honor of a lifetime — a lifetime of happy accidents and good fortune. From the people I work with to the people I live with, I’ve got an embarrassment of riches.”

In an earlier interview with Today, Al Roker shared that while raising kids and working, he and Roberts had little time left for each other. They often forgot to focus on their relationship. However, in the end, they always tried to make each other laugh because it helped keep them happy.

A look into Al Roker and Deborah Roberts’ yesteryears

Al Roker previously told Kelly Clarkson in 2021 that he and Roberts were initially in the friend zone, and Roberts did not want to ruin their bond. When Roberts was away for news work, she entrusted Roker to look after her house. Remembering that time, he told Clarkson:

“And I had to snoop around, I was in the kitchen. I open up the fridge and there’s nothing in the fridge. Like some old cheese, a bottle of Grey Poupon mustard and that’s about it.”

Roker added:

“I open up the oven expecting to see a mess. It was a new oven, I guess, when she had moved in. The cardboard was still on the oven grates. I thought, ‘This woman’s never used this oven. This is insane.’”

In 1998, the couple welcomed Leila. Then, in 2002, Roberts gave birth to their son Nick. When the couple celebrated 25 years of marriage, Roberts shared an Instagram post, writing that it was hard to believe 25 years had already passed.

Over those years, she wrote that there had been happy times, tough times, surprises, and lessons. Roberts mentioned that no matter what happened, they always tried to remember the special words from their wedding about how love should be patient, kind, and strong enough to handle anything.

Al Roker has a daughter, Courtney, who was born to Alice Bell. In 2023, Courtney welcomed a daughter. Speaking to Today, he said he would like to be called Pop-Pop by his granddaughter, as his father was called by the same nickname. He wanted that tradition to continue.
