Amy Robach once shared her life with actor Andrew Shue, who is best known for his role in Melrose Place. Their marriage seemed steady for years, which made the news of Robach’s alleged affair with her GMA3 co-anchor, T.J. Holmes, even more shocking to the media world.
According to Page Six, a source stated that Amy Robach and Andrew Shue separated in August 2022, the same month Holmes split from his wife, Marilee Fiebig. The two on-air colleagues had reportedly grown close to each other months earlier while training together for the New York City Half Marathon.
Before they met, both Robach and Shue had their own family histories. Robach was married to former MLB player Tim McIntosh from 1996 to 2008. The couple had two daughters, Ava (born in 2002) and Analise (born in 2006). Shue, meanwhile, was married to floral designer Jennifer Hageney from 1994 until 2008, and they had three sons: Nate (born in 1997), Aidan (born in 1999), and Wyatt (born in 2004).

Now, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have once again stepped into the spotlight, not due to controversy this time, but for celebration. The pair, who recently announced their engagement, seemed ready to start planning their wedding.
A look back at Amy Robach and Andrew Shue’s relationship before their split:

As Page Six reported, Amy Robach and Andrew Shue first met at a book party in April 2008. Their relationship grew quickly, and by September 2009, they were engaged. Soon after, they tied the knot on Robach’s 37th birthday at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
In 2013, Robach publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer after a mammogram she underwent on live television. During surgery, doctors discovered a second tumor and found that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. Amy Robach endured eight rounds of chemotherapy, followed by radiation and reconstructive surgery. Two years later, in 2015, Amy Robach spoke openly about how her illness had strained her marriage, in a report shared by People.
“This was not something I would wish on anyone’s marriage, but I think it was especially hard on a newer marriage, all of a sudden, I felt like I needed [Shue] in a very needy way, and that’s not my personality… When I had my crisis, I completely crumbled. It threw everything up in the air. It was rough for several months,” she explained.
She also reflected on what kept them together.
“We knew what we had when we found each other, and we knew that if we could just get back to what our connection was about and just be honest about the fears, then we could get through it,” she shared.
In March 2022, Amy Robach announced she was cancer-free. That same year, her marriage with Shue ended. According to Page Six, Robach left Shue in August 2022 after a trip to Greece to pursue a romance with her GMA3 co-host, T.J. Holmes. Their relationship became public that November, and Robach officially filed for divorce the following month.
“Amy and Andrew are divorcing, it’s almost finalized. He moved out earlier this summer, they’ve constantly had problems over the years and they finally broke up,” an insider told Page Six
From Co-hosts to life partners: Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are engaged

As E! News reported, the former GMA3 co-anchors have taken their relationship a step further by confirming their engagement. “We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged," Amy revealed on the Oct. 14 episode of their Amy & T.J. podcast.
"We’ve been engaged for just about a month now,” she shared.
T.J. eased the mood with humor, explaining why they decided to deliver the news themselves.
“We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to, we’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship,” he shared.
His remark referenced the couple’s highly public debut as a pair in 2022, when they were photographed during a New York outing, images that immediately turned their private lives into a national conversation. Despite the attention, Amy noted that she hadn’t gone out of her way to hide her engagement.
“I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring very proudly, very excitedly, and kept waiting for somebody to point it out or ask me, ‘Hey, what’s that?’" she recalled.
"And it never happened,” she added.
Although they hadn’t yet shared the full proposal story, the couple said they were now “celebrating with family” before providing more details.
