Who are Andrew McCarthy’s children? All about the kids as Pretty in Pink star shares daughter’s photo from prom night

As per a recent article by Today.com, American actor Andrew McCarthy recently had a 'happy father moment' when he posted the photograph of his 16-year-old daughter all decked up for her prom night.

Andrew McCarthy posted a picture of himself along with his daughter Willow, who wore a blue sleeveless gown for her prom night. McCarthy wrote the caption 'She did not wear pink'. Willow is a high school senior who was all decked up for her prom.

Andrew McCarthy is the father of three children. His eldest son, Sam, is 23 years old. The actor shares Sam with his ex-wife Carol Schneidar. His other two children are Willow and Rowan. Willow is 16 years old, and Rowan is just 11 years old. McCarthy shares Willow and Rowan with Delores Rice, whom he married in the year 2005 after splitting from Schneidar.

Willow's Instagram shows that she will be attending New York University in the fall. New York University is not far from the Empire State. Sam and Willow were interested in performing arts.

McCarthy appeared in the Broadway production titled Matilda as the lead character. Though Andrew McCarthy is a legendary actor of his time, his children are not much of a fan of his classic movies.

"Sam saw 'Weekend at Bernies' several years ago. He said, ‘I love you, Dad. But that’s the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen.’ To which I said, “That is the point.” It is, you know?” McCarthy revealed in an interview with The Arrow from AARP in the year 2023.

Andrew McCarthy further elaborated that his daughter was surprised to see her father kissing another woman on screen.

“And my daughter, she’s 16. So some of her friends told her she needs to watch ‘Pretty in Pink.’ She watched the trailer, saw me kissing Molly Ringwald and said, ‘I’m not watching a movie where you’re kissing some other woman.’ I thought that was a good, healthy response.” Revealed McCarthy.

About Andrew McCarthy's children

Sam, the eldest of Andrew McCarthy's children, was born in 2002. On the other hand, McCarthy's daughter Willow was born in 2006, and Rowan was born in 2014.

In an interview on Live With Kelly and Mark in the year 2023, Andrew McCarthy spoke about keeping his celebrity status away from his children and the first time his children found out about his stardom.

“I realized in that instant I did everything wrong as a parent by keeping such a big part of my life separate from my kids." McCarthy said in the interview

Andrew McCarthy's son Sam is following in his father's footsteps by stepping into the world of acting. Sam had always been a part of plays and dramas at school and was drawn to acting.

Sam got his big break in the year 2019 in Netflix's comedy drama Dead to Me. His other notable roles include Candor and Goosebumps.

McCarthy's daughter Willow was born on July 24, 2006. Willow has also been interested in acting. She had played the role of the protagonist in the Broadway musical Matilda: The Musical. Her other Broadway roles include The Ferryman and 1984.
