Who is Anthony Mackie’s ex-wife Sheletta Chapital? Captain America star spotted kissing mystery woman following trust issues in dating

The MCU star Anthony Mackie, widely known for his role as Sam Wilson/Falcon in multiple Marvel films, was recently spotted in London's Notting Hill area with a woman whose identity is still a mystery, according to TMZ. TMZ published a couple of pictures of Anthony Mackie kissing the mystery woman in the streets of Notting Hill. This comes on the heels of the 46-year-old Captain America: Brave New World star previously stating that he had trust issues when it comes to dating women.

Anthony Mackie's last Marvel movie, Captain America: Brave New World, which was released in February 2025, was undoubtedly successful, but it did not become a blockbuster. Mackie, who made his debut in the MCU in 2014 with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, has also been in several other movies outside the MCU. Not to mention, the Elevation actor has also starred in highly-rated TV series like Twisted Metal and Altered Carbon.

While Anthony Mackie's fans and the netizens are curious about the identity of the mystery woman, they are also curious about his former wife, Sheletta Chapital. According to Parade, as reported by Style, Mackie and Chapital both were raised in New Orleans. They grew up together and were childhood sweethearts.

The Hurt Locker actor, Anthony Mackie, who tied the knot with Chapital in 2014 in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, shares four sons with her. Their marriage came to an end when Mackie filed for divorce from her in 2017. As per TMZ, their split was finalized in 2018.

According to Legit, as reported by Style, Sheletta Chapital attended Tulane University in New Orleans and currently works as a director of business development at Favor International, which is an African community-outreach organization. As per Stylecaster, she lives with all her sons in New Orleans, whom she tries to keep out of public attention.

Anthony Mackie has trust issues when it comes to dating

As per TMZ, Anthony Mackie, who was spotted kissing a mystery woman in the streets of Notting Hill, was filming in London for the upcoming MCU movie, Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to be released in December 2026.

While the nature of Mackie's relationship with this mystery woman remains to be known, the 8 Mile actor, in a previous interview with People Magazine, stated that he faces trust issues when it comes to dating women. Mackie, who is interested in finding another soulmate, told People Magazine:

"How do you trust someone? How do you put yourself in a position to be vulnerable? How do you know what someone really [wants] from you when all you want is to just be loved and appreciated? What does that look like?” he said, adding that he’s “older” and “not on the apps."

Anthony added that he had decided to concentrate on his work and spend as much time as possible with his four sons.
