American television presenter and science communicator William Sanford Nye, commonly known as Bill Nye, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles on September 22, 2025. The 69-year-old science educator, widely known for the ’90s science education TV series Bill Nye the Science Guy, received the 2,821st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Following Nye’s Hollywood Walk of Fame recognition, many were curious about his personal life, especially his first marriage. Bill Nye, a mechanical engineer and well-known television personality, was previously married to musician and writer Blair Tindall.
According to the Daily Mail, Nye and Tindall married in 2006 and were together for just six weeks before they split. Following their separation, Nye and Tindall's relationship deteriorated further, even involving a prolonged legal battle.
Their relationship became strained, with Nye claiming that Tindall entered his home without permission and vandalized his rose garden, which led to a restraining order, according to the Daily Mail. Tindall died at the age of 63 on April 12, 2023, due to cardiovascular disease, according to reports. Nye and Tindall shared a daughter, Charity Nye.
Bill Nye finally gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The mechanical engineer turned television personality, Nye, was finally honored with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Following his split from Blair Tindall, Nye married journalist and writer Liza Mundy in 2022 at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. The couple has largely kept their marriage out of the public eye. Though they try to stay away from public attention, Nye and Mundy occasionally step out together to attend events and premieres.
His Hollywood Walk of Fame star honors his contributions to both science education and television, where he appeared in shows including Bill Nye Saves the World, Blindspot, The End is Nye, The Eyes of Nye, and others. He attended Cornell University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1977. Nye gained significant fame after his popular educational TV show won 19 Emmy Awards. The show ran from 1993 to 1999.
