The legendary NFL coach, Bill Belichick, has supposedly been consulting with veteran PR expert Brandon Faber after his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, had to step in during an awkward and much-criticized interview on CBS Sunday Morning.

According to the New York Post, Belichick has been talking to Faber for months, well before the CBS incident. Brandon Faber is the ex Chicago Bears Vice President of Communications. He is also a well-known sports PR figure and brings more than two decades of experience working with NBA, NHL, and NFL teams.

Brandon Faber completed his education with a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Indiana University Bloomington in the year 2002.

Faber began his career with the Chicago Bulls, for whom he handled media relations during the Derrick Rose years, before joining the Blackhawks during their Stanley Cup-winning years.

According to his LinkedIn profile, He later worked with the Bears, coordinating all communications and crisis management, and community relations.

The CBS interview was done to promote Belichick’s new book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football. The interview eventually turned personal, with Belichick being asked questions on his relationship with Hudson and his departure from the New England Patriots. At one point, Hudson broke in and said:

"We’re not talking about this."

More about Brandon Faber's early career and achievements amidst Bill Belichick's response to the controversial interview

A graduate of DeKalb High School in 1997, Brandon Faber had a love and appreciation for sports, which was embedded in him early, through his childhood athletics and an understanding of the impact it had on his community.

"I think that’s what has driven me every day when I work so hard, and just my love for a lot of different sports and being around the people. It was really a nice foundation for me," he said in an interview with KPC News last year.

He supposedly followed his passion towards sports all through his time at Indiana University and played an important role during the team's 2008 draft lottery win, which landed him several job offers in Chicago's sports world.

While with the Blackhawks, Brandon Faber also received the NHL's Dillman Award for PR excellence in 2011. With the Bears, he looked after corporate communications and managed work such as negotiating stadiums and reaching out to the community.

After the controversial interview went viral, Belichick remarked that CBS had edited the interview selectively, saying it was supposed to have centered only on his book:

"I was surprised when unrelated topics were introduced and I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep the conversation centered on the book," he noted.

Jordan was upset about how the segment was edited, saying the final eight-minute video barely showed the conversation, which had lasted about 35 minutes. On the other hand, CBS denied any editorial manipulation, arguing that the topic of the interview was never decided and was open-ended.
