Braxton Wells, an actor who starred in Tyler Perry’s series, The Oval, has accused Mark E. Swinton the Vice President at Tyler Perry Studios of s*xual assault, also alleging that Perry helped cover up the incident.

According to a post shared by Wells on his Instagram account on July 7, 2025, Wells claims that Swinton tried to r*pe him while he was under his influence, “flying me from Los Angeles to Georgia under false pretenses.”

He called out Tyler Perry for his silence, who claims to be a "God-fearing man". He alleged that when the dark deeds were conducted through his own executive, he tried to cover up the predator. He added, “That’s not faith — that’s fraud.”

Wells is an American actor based in Columbus, Georgia. He is best known for his work in BET Tyler Perry's The Oval and Amazon Freevee Clean Slate, per his IMDb profile. He made his debut through a short film, called On a Whim, released in 2020. It was directed by Asya Nikolaeva and also starred actors Sophia Del Pizzo, Robert Chestnut, Joseph Paul, and Zine Tseng.

The Oval actor, Braxton Wells has made serious allegations of s*xual assault against Mark E. Swinton, a high-ranking executive at Tyler Perry Studios. He has called out Perry claiming that he tried to be silent on the matter when he cried for help.

According to his IMDb profile, Braxton Wells attended Hardaway High School. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He then went to the Academy of Art University in California, where he studied BFA Acting program with Dianne Baker and Damon Sperber.

His LinkedIn describes that he has been registered as a professional actor with SAG-Aftra since 2020 to date.

In his Instagram post shared on July 7, 2025, he called out Swinton and Perry and wrote.

“I speak today not just for myself, but for every soul silenced by power, fame, and fear.”

He added:

“Mark E. Swinton, you groomed and r_ped me while I was under your influence, flying me from Los Angeles to Georgia under false pretenses. You abused your position as Vice President of Tyler Perry Studios — a company that claims to stand for faith — to commit unspeakable evil behind closed doors.”

Wells continued:

“Tyler Perry, you built your empire on the image of a God-fearing man, yet when darkness crept in through your own executive, you chose silence. You retained a predator in your house and helped cover it up, protecting your brand over a broken human life. That’s not faith — that’s fraud. Yahweh Elohim sees all. He is not mocked.”

“You hid behind Hollywood politics, lawyers, and NDAs. You thought your money could bury truth. But no contract signed under duress, no manipulation by a corrupt attorney, and no celebrity circle will stop Yahweh’s judgment.”

In another post shared on his Instagram, Braxton Wells claimed that he “came out about this situation way before Derek Dixon!” But, he was told to take down the video which included his own lawyer.

He added in his post that just when he thought he got his big break into Hollywood he got trapped by Swinton and was r*ped and assaulted. He wrote that his dreams were crushed for two years and he faced medical issues. Furthermore, he also dealt with substance abuse.

He stated that he is sick of such studios that claim to be believers of Christ because, in reality, they are no less than predators.
