Brett Cooper, who is the daughter of Diana Cooper and Mike Cooper, recently joined Fox News as a contributor, but was reported to have missed her own debut appearance on the network as she ran into some car issues.
According to USA Today, she appeared on the show through a recorded video message and shared the news, stating that she and her husband were stranded on a freeway between Dallas and Austin. She said:
"I was so excited to kick off this new partnership with Fox in this official way, but a series of unfortunate events left my husband and I on the side of the road in Texas on the freeway as we were trying to get between Austin and Dallas."
Brett Cooper, who recently got married to Alex Tombul, rose to fame as a commentator on The Daily Wire, where she hosted The Comments Section for over two years. She later started her own YouTube channel, The Brett Cooper Show, and recently joined Fox News as a contributor, where she will provide commentary on sociopolitical issues concerning the U.S.
More about Brett Cooper's family, as she joins FOX News as a contributor
Brett Cooper, who was born on October 12, 2001, lived in Bellingham, Washington, but later relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee, with her parents and siblings. Not much is known about her parents' marriage, but they were married for a short while before getting divorced. Growing up, she had a difficult relationship with her parents and was allowed to emancipate herself when she was just fifteen years old.
As per E! News, Brett Cooper was homeschooled and later attended the University of California, Los Angeles. She had two older twin brothers, one of whom, David Grant Cooper, passed away at a young age, and the other was homeless for a while before being diagnosed with schizophrenia. Earlier this year, she posted a throwback picture from her childhood in remembrance of her brother.
In her appearance on The Shawn Ryan Show, she talked about discovering that her father, with whom she previously had a difficult relationship, wanted her aborted. She said:
"What really changed her mind permanently about abortion was when my Dad came to her and was like, ‘I don’t want a child. If you want this so badly, you go make the appointment, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. I have a lot more empathy for him as I’ve gotten older, and I understand him more. One of the greatest parts of growing up is seeing your own parents as humans, with their own childhood, their own baggage. It’s really helped our relationship.”
She added:
"Bringing somebody into my life who didn’t carry the baggage and the weight of growing up in this environment and didn’t experience the heartbreaks and didn’t experience feeling let down… he was just able to look at my dad as just a human and was able to find him so endearing and funny and kind. Being able to see him through my husband’s lens… that’s made me so much better.”
Brett Cooper got engaged to Alex Tombul in October 2023. According to The Conservateur, Alex Tombul, who is the founder of an ad agency based in Nashville, proposed to the commentator while on a trip to Hungary. The couple later got married in April 2024 and are now expecting their first child.
