Brian Van Holt has shocked fans with his revelation about the inspiration behind his character on Sex and the City.

Brian Van Holt sat down for a guest appearance on Kristin Davis' Are You a Charlotte? episode that came out on Monday, August 18. During that time, he told the hostess, who was a leading character on the series, about the inspiration behind Ford:

“I don’t even know if this is true, this is probably all rumored and hearsay, but there’s the P***y Posse,” he said, referring to Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire's rumored friend group.

Brian Van Holt portrayed Wylie Ford on the drama series, a character that Kristin Davis was close to getting intimate with before she was put off by his eccentric s*xual request.

As reported by Us Weekly and Just Jared, DiCaprio and Maguire's friend group was allegedly notorious for going to bars to chase women and pulling off pranks. While the rumors are longstanding, neither of the two veteran actors has confirmed that such a group exists, nor have they addressed their alleged involvement.

“So that character Wylie Ford was loosely based on the P***y Posse shenanigans,” Brian Van Holt said, adding that his character let him “channel [his] inner douche bag.” He continued, “I just kind of embraced it and it was not only fulfilling creatively, but it was also very therapeutic.”

During the segment, Volt also said that it was "fun" for him to answer the question:

“How can I be as douchey as possible? To represent something that I don’t really care for?” he quipped, adding that he “did a lot of research” to get to know his character properly.

As for Kristin Davis, 60, she shocked her fans when she revealed that she was once "set up" on a date with the late Friends actor Matthew Perry, long before she worked on Sex and the City. She recounted being set up by an attorney back in the late ’90s.

“It was at a house. It was a dinner party. It was so low-key,” she told Brian Van Holt. “Matthew’s lovely. He sits next to me. And he’s talking about how thrilled he is, how happy they are on the set at Friends, and he was doing a film with Salma Hayek. I was like, ‘Wow, he’s so happy.’”

As reported by Us Weekly, in the end, nothing romantic ever came of their meetup.
