Cassie Ventura has currently taken the stand to face Sean "Diddy" Combs in the federal case to prosecute the once famed producer. Ventura, who has accused Diddy of r*pe and physical abuse, is the daughter of Roderick Ventura, a former firefighter at the New London Police Department.
Cassie Ventura, who dated Sean Diddy Combs from 2007 to 2018, suffered years of abuse and physical violence at the hand of the music mogul. She is currently the prime witness in the effort to bring down Diddy, who has not only been accused by several other women, but has also been called by prosecutors of having ran "a criminal enterprise," according to Guardian.

Cassie Ventura was born on 26 August 1986, to parents Roderick and Regina Ventura. Her grandfathers on both side of the family served in the armed forces. In a 2008 interview with Tara Harris, ahead of the premiere of her movie "Step Up 2: The Streets," Ventura revealed the unknown details about her family and how her parents encouraged her to try various activities as a child. She said:
"I'm from Connecticut. My Mom is an army brat and my Dad is a navy brat. My childhood was fun. My parents are still together. My childhood was pretty carefree. I tried a little of everything when I was little. I tried karate, I tried ballet, I tried piano lessons and singing lessons... I was a pretty normal kid, for the most part."
Cassie Ventura, who is of mixed ethnicity, futher added:
"My Dad is Filipino and my Mom is Mexican, Black and West Indian."
The Long Way 2 Go singer, who has a close relationship with her family revealed another disturbing detail about her relationship dynamic with Diddy. On Tuesday, during the second day of the trial, she said that the rapper made her call him a particular nickname she had lovingly used for her own grandfather. According to Entertainment Online, once Diddy learned that Ventura called her grandfather "pop pop" he insisted that she call him that too. She said:
"I did it but now I think it was disrespectful."
Cassie Ventura's grandfather passed away in 2020, and she posted a sweet tribute to him on her Instagram, writing:
"I wish I could hug you. I miss and love you, Pop. I pray that you can feel my heart. Sending all of my love to Nana and my entire family. I wish I could be with you guys right now. I love you."
Not much is known about her parents, as both of them lead a life away from the spotlight. Her father, Roderick Ventura, worked as a firefighter and retired in 2019. He now volunteers for the Burn Foundation, according to Celeb Family.
While her mother, Regina who is also retired, previously worked as a Workers' compensation paralegal at Embry & Neusner, from 1990 to 1998, according to her Linkedln profile. She later served as an Administrative Lead at Pfizer Worldwide R & D before returning to Embry & Neusner to work as a settlement paralegal untill her retirement in 2022.
In 2022, Cassie Ventura did a photoshoot for Kith with her mother, and daughter, Sunny Fine, whom she shares with husband, Alex Fine.
According to USA Today, Cassie Ventura's parents were "skeptical of (Diddy's) displays of wealth," early on in the relationship. In her testimony on Tuesday, Ventura stated that Diddy attempted to control all aspects of her life and was seen getting emotional at one point as she bravely gave her testimony.
