Former Bond girl Caterina Murino and husband Édouard Rigaud are expecting!
The 47-year-old actress, known for her appearance in Casino Royale, made the announcement in her recent interview with Gala, a French magazine. Parade has reported that she is carrying a boy, due this September.
"At my age, I had to ask medicine to help nature," she told the outlet, per People Magazine. "You don't always decide when the right time to become a mother comes."
She also revealed that her journey with in vitro fertilization (IVF) was difficult, as she suffered two miscarriages in the past. However, her current pregnancy is going well.
"I haven't had any discomfort, no diabetes, no insomnia," she said.
Caterina Murino, who has been with Rigaud, a French lawyer, for eight years now, also revealed they've already chosen a name, though they kept mum about it. The pair met during a night out with their friends.
Elle has reported that he specializes in commercial law and real estate litigation, having graduated from the University of Limoges and the Birmingham University School of Law. His Instagram profile showcases a passion for cats and travel, though not much else is known about him.
However, Caterina Murino is grateful to her husband and his ex-wife for their divorce. Speaking with F magazine back in 2018, she said:
"I want to build with Edouard. Every time I say to myself: but why didn't we meet before? In the end, the answer is that maybe ten years ago we wouldn't have recognized each other. And I continue to sanctify his ex-wife, who left him. I should light a candle for her every day for the gift she gave me."

In her latest interview, Caterina Murino opened up about the wave of public backlash she was subjected to following her steamy scene with Daniel Craig. The two starred together in 2006's Casino Royale, and according to the Daily Mail, she starred as Solange in it.
'When he kissed me in the film… it was so sexy, so real,' she said. 'It must have looked very real, because among the many fan letters I got was a death threat from someone who was jealous.'
Nonetheless, she said she's proud of her work on the film and is looking ahead to the next chapter in her life: welcoming a child. The actress was raised in Sardinia, and while she initially sought to become a doctor, she couldn't get into medical school. Instead, she ran for Miss Italy and won, propelling her to become a model.
She now lives with her husband in Montmartre, Paris, according to Gala. She has several credits to her name, including Italian and international films, having previously served as the host for the 80th Venice International Film Festival in 2023.
Caterina Murino also reflected on her pregnancy during a July 2 interview with Costa Smeralda.
“I feel I am living a magical moment,” she said. “Soon I will become a mother, and I believe we all have a huge responsibility today: raise conscious human beings.”
As reported by Elle, she once told Corriere della Sera of her desire to become a mother:
"The miracles exist. Here, I said everything. For now, I am the mother of two kittens."
