In a shocking move, Cheryl Cole’s ex Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has shared a throwback photo of her, nine years after they parted ways.

Following a three-month romance, the pair tied the knot after having met during the Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Cole married the French businessman in an intimate ceremony on the Caribbean island of Mustique in July that year.

However, following months of speculation that their marriage was not doing so well, in January 2016, they officially parted ways. As reported by The Sun, In October 2016, they were granted a decree nisi.

The X Factor judge's former husband is the heir to a wealthy family. He was raised in the South of France, and at the age of 21, enrolled at New York University to study business. According to the BBC, during that time, he reportedly took a year off "just to party."

He eventually left New York to study business at the Institut Supérieur de Gestion, one of Paris' leading institutions. He now owns a luxury pop-up restaurant brand called Cosy Box, which, according to the BBC, is scattered across Europe.

In his Instagram Stories post from this Sunday, Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, 44, shared a photo of himself and his ex-wife, Cheryl Cole, 41, walking through the airport, with the caption reading:

“Where is this jacket?”

The Daily Mail has reported that the pair listed 'unreasonable behaviour' as their cause of divorce, with Cole later claiming in her divorce papers that her former husband's behavior had left her with stress and weight loss.

Per the outlet, the throwback photo was taken as they were heading to the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. While Cheryl Cole sported a yellow skater dress and black open-toe boots, her then-husband, whom she reportedly referred to as "JB," sported some dark jeans and a navy bomber jacket. They can be seen holding hands in the photo.

The outlet further reports that when the estranged lovebirds first met in 2014, Jean-Bernard had no clue who the X Factor judge was. They tied the knot within 12 weeks of getting to know each other, and their wedding was so secretive that reportedly only 4 people attended it, including Cheryl Cole's mother, Joan, and her personal assistant and close friend, Lily England.

At the time, she took to X to share the announcement:

"I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together."
