Carly Rae Jepsen announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Cole M.G.N., in an Instagram post shared on Monday. The singer posted black-and-white images showing her baby bump and wrote, “Oh hi baby,” alongside a heart emoji. Her husband, Cole Marsden Greif-Neill, replied with several heart-eyes emojis.

According to Vogue’s October 2025 feature, Jepsen and Cole M.G.N. met in May 2021 during a songwriting session. They worked together as collaborators before beginning a relationship the following year. Their first song as a duo was titled No Labels I Love You.

The couple became engaged on September 21, 2024, during a month-long trip in Europe, with the proposal taking place at Hotel Castello di Reschio in Umbria. They were married on October 4 at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City, a venue long associated with writers and musicians such as Mark Twain, Arthur Miller, Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith, and Madonna.

“We knew we wanted a location that meant something to us, the Chelsea Hotel had become a home away from home every time we were in New York,” Jepsen told Vogue.

She said the couple met weekly to plan the wedding, adding,

“This way it was only ever fun and not too much at once.”

Jepsen also shared that she worked with planner Stefanie Cove and found her gown at Loho Bride, ultimately choosing a Toni Maticevski design.

“We knew we were trying to get pregnant, so I also wanted an alternative dress that was much more flowy that I could sub in for the ceremony or just change into for dancing,” she shared.

For Carly Rae Jepsen and Cole M.G.N., their wedding day was as intimate as it was meaningful. Held in the Bard Room of the Chelsea Hotel, the ceremony brought together 100 guests, with Carly’s aunt and uncle officiating.

“Being present and at ease was key for both of us, we wanted it to feel romantic and full of emotion. Our family talked about how we met, and we wrote personal vows to each other that we read aloud,” Carly said

To their surprise, the moment felt lighter than either had imagined. “We were expecting to,” Carly admitted when speaking about not crying.

“But the energy was just light and joyful. Between the bright baby blue of the background, the wildflowers that surrounded us, and the intimate lighting, walking down the aisle felt like a fever dream. Nothing will top the moment when we first locked eyes, and to be honest, for the first half of the ceremony we couldn’t see anyone else,” she shared.

After the vows, their planner Stefanie Cove gently led them outside for a quiet pause before the reception. “

We giggled and kissed and just tried to take it in before the cocktail party began,” Carly recalled.

Weeks later, Carly and Cole M.G.N. were still filled with gratitude.

“Often in life we’ll imagine things, and even though the reality can be good, it’s never quite as good, this day felt like the exception. It was better than either one of our wildest dreams. We felt connected through the whole thing, which was really important to us. In fact, we even had a few special songs planted in the DJ’s setlist so that, no matter where we were at the moment, when we heard those songs, we would come find each other,” she shared.
