The Los Angeles Police Department is reportedly looking into a decomposing body that was discovered inside a Tesla registered under the singer D4vd's name.

Per ABC7, the vehicle was discovered at a tow yard in Hollywood. At the time, officers were responding to reports about a foul smell emanating from an impounded vehicle at the 1000 block of N. Mansfield Avenue just before 12:30 p.m. Monday.

D4vd, legally known as David Anthony Burke, is a 20-year-old American singer-songwriter. He is known for singles like Here With Me and Romantic Homicide, which were viral hits on TikTok. His track Feel It also debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, and it was one of five singles he debuted last year.

D4vd was reportedly expected to perform in Minneapolis today, September 9, as part of his ongoing "Withered" world tour. The tour kicked off last month and was scheduled to end at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles later this month. He is signed to Darkroom and Interscope Records.

The car, a 2023 model, had reportedly been there for a few days, ABC 7 has reported, and the body was found inside the bag. As of this writing, further details about the identity of the deceased remain unclear, though it was reportedly found in the front trunk of the car.

According to The Daily Mail, the car had Texas number plates and was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills five days ago. Surveillance footage reportedly depicts cops surrounding the car amid their investigations, with a white tent erected nearby. The car was later towed out of the impound lot.

D4vd, who was expected to kick off the European leg of his world tour next month, is also known for having debuted his second studio album Withered earlier this year.

As of this writing, he has yet to issue a comment on the situation, though he had been active online just recently, especially on Instagram, where he has 2 million followers. According to The New York Post, the singer boasts billions of streams on Spotify.

The Daily Mail has reported that the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that they are treating the discovery of the body as a death investigation. It is also currently unclear if the singer will be taken in for an interrogation or if he is currently detained.
