Animator and writer Dana Terrace criticized Disney publicly. On November 14, The Owl House creator shared an X post, writing:
“Unsubscribe from Disney+. Pirate Owl House. I don’t care. F*ck gen AI.”
According to Screenrant, the CEO of the mass media and entertainment company, Bob Iger, recently made an announcement. He said that a feature allowing users to generate content using generative AI could be rolled out in the future. In his statement, Iger said:
“The other thing that we’re really excited about, that AI is going to give us the ability to do, is to provide users of Disney+ with a much more engaged experience, including the ability for them to create user-generated content and to consume user generated content, mostly short-form, from others.”
On November 19, Terrace reshared the news on X twice. The first time, she wrote:
“PICK UP A PENCIL OR DIE.”
The second time, Dana Terrace mentioned:
““If you pay us we’ll let you make your own content slop! That we will own!” YOU CAN DRAW AND WRITE AND POST YOUR OWN SHIT FOR FREE. Bob Iger and his ilk are f*cking ghouls.”
Born on December 8, 1990, Dana Terrace has been influenced by manga and anime in her artistic abilities. She was a student at the School of Visual Arts, and upon graduating, she moved to LA. She not only created The Owl House but also did additional voices and worked as the storyboard artist for the 2020 animated series. She is also credited for her other works, such as Camp Halohead, Tangled, and Gravity Falls, among others.
Dana Terrace talks about Knights of Guinevere
Dana Terrace is also the creator of Knights of Guinevere, released in September 2025. During an interview with the YouTube channel GLITCH, she was asked what the animated series was about. She said:
“It's about a lot of people who are just trying to make their lives better and getting caught up in a giant conspiracy trying to do so. It's in space and a theme park. It's filled with robots and gore. And I feel like I'm doing it a disservice right now.”
She continued:
“Like I come up with any story, I was pissed off one day and this became a cathartic release. I brought the idea to my co-creators, Zack Marcus and John Bailey Owen, and we came up with the rest of it.”
When asked about the Park Planet in Knights of Guinevere, Dana Terrace explained that it was a huge theme park that floated in the sky. It had all kinds of rides and fun things to do, even ones that were hard to picture. She said the park wasn’t as exciting as the ride they were talking about, and that the whole place was based on the story and legends of Princess Guinevere.
Looking back on her career, she said:
“I worked for big mainstream studios for about 10 years and now I'm enjoying myself quite a lot.”
When asked if making the animated series was different from her other works, Dana Terrace agreed, saying she had fun with it.
