Who is Danielle Jonas? Kevin Jonas’ wife reveals Lyme Disease diagnosis

Kevin Jonas' wife Danielle Jonas has opened up about her Lyme Disease diagnosis.

The jewelry designer and mother of two revealed this in an interview with Parent Magazine, where she also detailed the events preceding the diagnosis. She said:

"They tried to tell me it was anxiety. Finally, I had a biopsy that showed I actually had Lyme Disease."

Danielle also spoke about the dismissive attitudes of the healthcare professionals and her battle with a related symptom of the disease.

She added (sic),

"I also had eczema on my scalp, which was likely from the inflammation. The hair loss was very traumatic. I got to a point where I wanted to wear a wig."

As she later revealed in the interview, her Lyme disease is under control, though symptoms like eczema flare up from time to time.

Danielle Jonas (née Deleasa) first met the eldest Jonas brother in 2007 when he and his family were on vacation in the Bahamas. Danielle, then working as a hairdresser, famously told PEOPLE Magazine in a 2009 interview,

"I didn't know who the Jonas brothers were."

The couple went on to get married two years later and have since welcomed two daughters, Alena, 11, and Valentina, 8. A doting mother, Danielle has even found a way in her illness to boost her daughters' self-esteem, she told Parent Magazine.

“They saw everything I went through, so the main thing I tell them (when their eczema flares up) is ‘this is going to pass’," she said.

In the past, Danielle Jonas has also been outspoken about feeling 'less than' compared to other Jonas wives. In her appearance on the LadyGang podcast with Kevin, Danielle said,

"The two boys married somebody who, they’re actresses, they’re out there, everyone knows them, and I feel like … I’m Danielle..."

To which Kevin replied,

“I feel that way too - being like you said, Nick and Joe, right? Like solo careers, movies, all the stuff. Everyone has to find their place, no matter the situation.”

He later commended Danielle on finding her own space, saying,

“We always get compared to the people around you. I know (she) dealt with it, I know she did with her sisters growing up, the three of them. So, I totally get it."

Danielle has had a successful run on reality TV with 2012's Married to Jonas. She is also a businesswoman and runs her own jewellery brand, Danielle Jonas Co., which she describes as 'luxury jewellery for your everyday essentials'.

Notably, Justin Timberlake also shared his Lyme disease diagnosis in July this year. Before that, the actor had faced fans' ire over his 'sluggish appearance' on tour.
