Who was Dawn Robinson’s ex husband Andre Allen? All we know about the actress’ relationship

Dawn Robinson recently spoke about her current living situation in a video uploaded on her YouTube channel.

The singer-actress is well-known as a founding member of the girl group En Vogue. The 58-year-old was previously married to actor-singer and music director Andre "Dre" Allen.

The former couple was married for almost seven years before their divorce in 2010. Allen produced music in the 2000s but moved away to different roles. He is the owner/CEO of The Allen Film Group and has also explored other career paths.

Recently, Dre Allen also gave his reaction to Robinson’s recent YouTube video and offered her help, per TMZ. The R&B Divas: Los Angeles Season 1 star hasn’t responded to her former husband. For those unaware, following their divorce, Robinson dated recording artist Christopher Nils Connolly. At the same time, Allen also moved on and has a new fiancée, TMZ reported.

Dawn Robinson has spent the last three years living in a car

The Dawn singer has kept away from the limelight for quite some time but has kept updating her fans through her social media handles. Recently, she dropped an 18-minute and 41-second-long video on her YouTube channel, revealing something personal about her life. She started by saying,

“When I first started this channel I knew that I was going to talk about this episode. This is one of the topics that I wanted to discuss…And people are like back and forth with me over this whole time, like, ‘Why you shouldn’t talk about it, because you are a celebrity and what if they judge you?’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, what if? What if they judge me? So what? We're all judged. Life is Life.”

Dawn Robinson thanked her viewers for supporting her throughout,

“[I am] glad, you guys are still with me and that you didn’t give up on me. It’s been a minute, like I said so, a lot of people are like, ‘She is not coming back. We are not going to see her again.’ Yeah you will. Thank you for having faith in me.”

The Envious singer dropped a big revelation about her living situation, proclaiming that she has been living in her car since 2022,

“For the past three years… Almost three years… I have been living in my car [Screams] . I said it. Oh my god, it’s out. I have been living in my car. Oh my gosh… If you remember, if you guys were with me, what, in 2020, I did like a 105,000 interviews and in the interim I was living with my parents in Vegas. And that was wonderful, until it wasn’t.”

Dawn Robinson emphasized that she loves her mom but had to move out due to “anger” issues. After spending a month in her car in Las Vegas, she moved back to LA at the suggestion of her former manager. Initially offered to stay at his place, the singer had to spend around eight months living in a hotel while looking for a new apartment.

It was the time when Dawn Robinson also researched “RV life.” The En Vogue singer recalled,

“I loved what I was seeing [people living in their RVs/cars]. I just thought wow these people… I could do that, I could do this. I think [chuckles].”

After observing others living in vans and RVs, Dawn Robinson also started her “car life” in 2022 and has continued to reside the same way. She also called her “forever mother-in-law,” assistant, and brother as three people who keep her “going” in life.
