Max Ehrich, an actor and singer, was the former fiancé of pop singer Demi Lovato. Lovato recently got married to singer-songwriter Jordan “Jutes” Lutes on May 25, 2025. Ehrich and Lovato were supposedly together during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Max Ehrich was born in Marlboro, New Jersey, and is best known for his role as Fenmore Baldwin in CBS's The Young and the Restless. The role garnered him 4 Daytime Emmy nominations.

He has also appeared in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Ugly Betty, iCarly, and most recently in the Netflix movie Walk. Ride. Rodeo. and the Lifetime show American Princess. Aside from acting, Ehrich is also a musician, having composed and sung songs, for instance “Ride,” which was in the soundtrack of Walk. Ride. Rodeo.

Talking on the Music and Medicine podcast, Ehrich described his passion for music and wanting to inspire people through his songs.

"I've been writing music since I was a kid like journals like on the piano and I just wasn't sure what I wanted to share with people but now I know what I want to share."

Apart from his career, Max Ehrich lives a balanced and conscious life by incorporating yoga, meditation, and nature. According to About Insider, He enjoys hiking and surfing, and says he finds peace in the outdoors.

According to People, Demi Lovato and Ehrich first started dating in the beginning of 2020 and were inseparable. Their romance played out almost entirely in the public eye, thanks to several Instagram comments and a series of joint social media appearances. Ehrich proposed a couple of months into the romance, in July 2020, But the match was short lived.

Lovato and Ehrich's breakup made headlines. Max Ehrich said in an Instagram post that he learned about the end of their engagement through the media while he was shooting a film in Florida.

In his own public response, he ended up posting quotes and spiritual messages, including one in which he was being baptized by the director of his faith based movie Southern Gospel. Lovato, on the other hand, dealt with the split in private, sharing videos on Instagram of herself watching UFC and hanging out with friends.

Although sources close to Demi Lovato confirmed that Ehrich had been told about the breakup before it was publicly reported (People), the actor stated otherwise, leading to a very public back-and-forth that fueled the tabloid headlines at that time.

According to inside sources, the couple had begun to hit a rough patch after breaking free of their shared quarantine bubble with work and career differences pulling them apart. Some insiders even suggested that Max Ehrich had a tough time adapting to his new found fame.

"They lived in a bubble with zero stress, and everything was just fun. Now they are both working and are on separate coasts... Max shot up in fame, and it's been hard. He got wrapped up in [Hollywood]."
