Van Dyke, an actor and comedian who has worked both in movies and television, during his conversation with the outlet, took responsibility for 'probably neglecting' his kids as he had to work hard to make ends meet.

The six-time Emmy Award-winning actor, Dick Van Dyke, who has also done stage acting, talked about his wife, Arlene Silver, with whom he has a huge age gap. The veteran actor and comedian, widely known for movies and TV shows such as Mary Poppins, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Carol Burnett Show, while speaking with People, shared how he couldn't spend much time with his family as he was busy and struggling with his acting and hosting jobs. Night at the Museum actor, Van Dyke said:

"In the beginning I was [raising] in a family with no money, so the whole thing was getting some money together and getting a home. They probably got neglected at some point, because I was really working hard to get out of poverty, so to speak, but I haven't had any complaints from anybody."
