Eddie Murphy's new Netflix documentary, Being Eddie, which was released on November 12, follows the life and storied career of the beloved comedian. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eddie Murphy, who shares ten children with five different women, also opened up about his journey through fatherhood in his new documentary.

The Beverly Hills Cop III actor shares one child with ex-girlfriend, Paulette NcNeely, five children with ex-wife, model, Nicole Mitchell, one son with Tamara Hood, another daughter with singer Mel B, and two children with wife, Paige Butcher, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2012.

The new Netflix documentary Being Eddie traces Murphy's life from his early days as a young comedian on Saturday Night Live to his later success in hit films from the 1980s, including Coming to America, The Golden Child, and many others. The documentary, directed by Angus Wall, also features interviews with Dave Chappelle, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jamie Foxx, Jerry Seinfeld, and others.

Eddie Murphy has been in several high-profile relationships throughout his decades-long career. According to People Magazine, the Golden Globe-winning actor was previously in a short-lived relationship with Paulette NcNeely in the 1980s. Not much is known about their relationship, but the couple welcomed their first and only child, a son, Eric Murphy, in July 1989.

Eric recently married Jasmine Lawrence, the daughter of fellow comedian Martin Lawrence, in a private ceremony held in May.

According to Entertainment Now, Eddie Murphy later welcomed his second child, a daughter named Bria, with model Nicole Mitchell, whom he met in the late 1980s at the NAACP Image Awards. During his marriage to Nicole Mitchell, The Nutty Professor actor was in another brief relationship with Tamara Hood, and the couple welcomed one son, Christian, in November 1990.

Eddie Murphy was later in a high-profile relationship with Spice Girls singer Mel B. During their brief romance, the couple welcomed their daughter, Angel, in 2006. According to People Magazine, there were initial disagreements about her paternity, leading to a DNA test conducted after her birth, which confirmed the Mr. Dolittle actor as the father. In an interview on the Larry King Live show, Mel B spoke about their brief relationship and said:

"Our relationship may have been brief but it was intense. We were very much in love and wanted to have a family together. That's that. I mean we're both tattooed. You don't tattoo somebody's name on your body if it's brief and unimportant, let's put it that way."

Eddie Murphy later began dating actress Paige Butcher in 2012. The couple welcomed their daughter, Izzy, in 2016. This was the ninth overall child for Murphy. Two years later, they welcomed their second child in November 2018. The couple had, in fact, gotten engaged just two months earlier, in September 2018, and in 2024, six years after their engagement, they tied the knot in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family.
