Veteran comedian and A-list actor Eddie Murphy, whose new documentary film Being Eddie is currently streaming on Netflix, recently shed light on his divorce from his first wife, Nicole Murphy. The 64-year-old senior actor, Eddie's Netflix documentary focuses on his long career and his journey as a young stand-up comic to one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. The docu-feature was released on November 12, 2025. It also features his close friends and colleagues from Hollywood, including Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, Jamie Fox, and others.

The Nutty Professor star, Eddie Murphy, who has been married to Australian actress Paige Butcher since July 2024, with whom he shares a son and a daughter, was previously married to Nicole Murphy, his first wife. According to Style, Nicole Murphy is a former model. While she is widely known for being the Beverly Hills Cop actor's former wife, she is also an actress who has starred in films such as Shut the Fuck Up, The Mystery of Las Clevs, and Just Love.

As per Style, Nicole Murphy also runs the skincare and wellness brand Y-Foy. As she has starred in a few movies, the 57-year-old model turned actress has also been a part of reality TV series such as Hollywood Exes.

Amid the release of his brand-new Netflix documentary, Being Eddie, the legendary comedian, Eddie Murphy, in a recent interview with People, spoke about his children from both his marriages. The Coming to America star was married to Nicole for 13 long years. They tied the knot in 1996, and Nicole filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences in 2006.

Eddie, who is a father to ten children, shares five of them with Nicole. He shares two sons, Angel and Myles, and three daughters, Zola, Bria, and Shayne, with her. Eddie shares three other children with two of his former partners. According to StyleCaster, following the Dr. Dolittle actor's divorce settlement with Nicole Murphy, he had to pay her $15 million in alimony.

However, during his recent interview with People, while talking about his ten children, Eddie Murphy said:

"It just happened. I never knew I would have 10 kids, but now it’s the best thing ever. If you can afford that many kids, you should have as many kids as you can afford. That is fun.” But most important, he points out, “my children are all decent people. I don’t have one rotten one, and I would like to think that they got some of that from me."
