Colson Baker, better known by his stage name Machine Gun Kelly, co-parented his daughter Casie with Emma Cannon, a figure who had remained almost entirely out of the public eye.
As per Style, Emma Cannon appeared to have no public social media accounts and kept her personal life tightly guarded. Information about her time with MGK is limited, though it is believed they met as teenagers in Cleveland, Ohio, long before the rapper’s career took off.
Emma Cannon was reportedly still in her teens when she gave birth to Casie in 2008, at a time when MGK himself was only 18. The connection between Cannon and MGK’s artistic work had also been the subject of fan speculation. His 2013 release Her Song contained lyrics that hinted at a relationship sacrificed in pursuit of musical dreams, with nods to Blink-182, the same band some claimed brought the pair together at a concert.
Emma Cannon’s daughter, Casie, gets a dream car from MGK on Cleveland’s “MGK Day”
Cleveland’s “MGK Day” on Sunday, August 10, wasn’t solely about honoring the artist formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly. During the celebrations, Kells surprised his daughter Casie with her dream ride, an Acura TLX, just weeks after she marked her 16th birthday in July.
According to Billboard, the video of the moment quickly spread across social media. Casie appeared stunned as a black Acura, topped with a bright red bow, rolled into view. She ran straight into her father’s arms before checking out her new set of wheels. Before she could take the driver’s seat, MGK laid down one key condition:
“What’s the No. 1 rule?” he asked.
Casie shot back, saying:
“Don’t drive like your dad.”
To which, MGK replied:
“Exactly — don’t drive like me.”
Emma Cannon’s daughter, Casie, prompted MGK’s decision to get clean
By August 2023, MGK had reached a breaking point. Years of relying on alcohol, marijuana, and pills had taken a toll, and a candid moment with his and Emma Cannon's daughter changed everything. On the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, he recalled:
"It started with my daughter saying, 'Dad, you know I can tell when you're high?' It broke my heart."
He explained:
"It was the ultimate letdown."
The road to sobriety wasn’t immediate, he admitted:
"It took me a while afterward because obviously drugs have a vice grip on you. That was step one for me. To be the father I wish my dad would have been, I have to break this generational curse for my kid."
From airports to red carpets, Casie keeps MGK grounded

When MGK sat down with Drew Barrymore in December 2021, the conversation turned to his daughter Casie and the joy she carried with her. He said:
"I was just walking behind my daughter in the airport the other day and she just has this walk, it's this pure bounce, she's so excited for life like she's so young in her life."
He added:
"I've experienced so much in my life. I just pray to every God that exists that she just keeps that bounce forever and that no one interferes with that that and that I always get to stand back and watch her have that bounce.""
Machine Gun Kelly told Barrymore that he hoped he "always get to stand back and watch her have that bounce." MGK shared:
"I will take any amount of torture that would come her way if it can just be on me so that she can keep that forever because … it's worth living for to see that."
He explained:
"Her voice is so sweet and it's not tainted with what the world has to offer."
