Aislinn Derbez, daughter of acclaimed Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez and an accomplished actress and producer herself, recently spoke candidly about the turbulent relationship between her parents. During her appearance last week on the Se Regalan Dudas podcast, hosted by Lety Sahagún and Ashley Frangie, the "La Promesa" actress reflected on the difficult relationship between both of her parents. According to the translation of her conversation, obtained by TVC, Aislinn Derbez said:

"I had parents who hated each other to a degree you can't even imagine."

According to Elimparcial, Aislinn Derbez further added that since she grew up in such a toxic environment, where her parents were constantly arguing, she started creating a fantasy world for herself to escape the realities of her situation, something that extended to her relationships as well. She said:

Aislinn Derbez was born on 18 March 1986, to parents Gabriela Michel and Eugenio Derbez, both of whom are actors in the Mexican film industry. Her parents divorced when she was very young, but their contentious relationship continued even after their separation. According to her IMDB page, Aislinn Derbez started modelling from the age of fifteen and later studied performing and visual arts at the New York School of Visual Arts.

According to El Imparcial, Aislinn Derbez, during her appearance on Se Regalan Dudas podcast, expressed the toil it took her to witness her parents yelling and screaming at each other until the age of twenty-five, when she finally moved away and began living alone. She said:

"There was a lot of yelling, they didn't want to talk to each other, so I was like a broken telephone."

In another recent interview with Yordi Rosado, the "House of Flowers" actress stated that her mother, Gabriela Michel, married Jorge Alberto Aguilera. She confessed that despite him being a more present father figure in her life than her biological father ever was, they do not share a close bond. She said:

"I lived with him for 15 or 16 years. I'm not that close to him either, but he's a great man. I see him through my sisters, especially Mich, my best friend, and they love him. Through them, I've seen a great father."

Aislinn Derbez was previously married to fellow Mexican actor Mauricio Ochmann, whom she met in 2014 on the set of their 2015 movie, "A La Mala." The couple married in 2016 after two years of dating, and in 2018, Derbez gave birth to the couple's first and only child, Kailani Ochmann. They later divorced in 2020 after four years of marriage.

In her conversation with Yordi Rosado, she confessed that the divorce proceedings were initiated by Ochmann. She said:

"He was more than clear that he didn't want to be there anymore. I respected that and didn't question it. If someone doesn't want to be with you, you can't force them, even if it hurts."

She further added:

"I neglected myself, my friends, my family, to keep something going that fell apart without knowing why. I felt directionless, as if I'd lost all my dreams,"

Aislinn Derbez, who now maintains a good relationship with her father, revealed that he supported her in her decision to go ahead with the divorce proceedings, saying:

"I had very long and deep conversations with him, but he was always there for me. He told me, 'That's great, because this way you'll be with me more. You didn't want to do anything with us.' He said it jokingly, but he was very kind to me,”

Aislinn Derbez has five half-siblings from her father's side, all of whom were featured in the November 2020 issue of Hola! Magazine USA. Derbez also has two half sisters from her mother's side.
