Booming Christian pop singer Forrest Frank is opening up about the accident that left him with several fractures.

The Houston native, 30, recently shared a video on Instagram in which he could be seen balancing himself on a skateboard at the edge of a sidewalk. He had no shirt or helmet on, and at one point, he lost his balance, hitting his back on the pavement as he fell straight onto the gravel and shrubs. His son was nearby and asked him if he was okay.

Further in the video, he could be seen wearing a neck brace while being treated at the hospital.

"dads, this is your sign to get off the stick," he captioned the post. "it was just a casual session with my 2 year old so i didn't even think to put a helmet on (hindsight is 20/20). thankful to God that it wasn't any worse. Multiple fractures to L3 and L4. will be laying in bed for a while….so sorry Grace."

Forrest Frank has been making waves with his music, as he dominated the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart for 35 non-consecutive weeks. He has eight studio albums to his name and a sizeable following on both Instagram and TikTok.

However, his skateboarding accident prompted him to adjust the schedule of his tour, according to Distractify. He first rose to fame back in 2017 as one-half of the pop duo Surfaces. However, he has since opted to go solo in his career.

Forrest Frank dropped his eighth studio album, Child of God II, just a few months ago, which was a sequel to 2024's Child of God. It features tracks like "Your Way's Better" and "Nothing Else." He was on the road for a tour in support of the album at the time of the accident, and was expected to perform in Des Moines, IA.

Regardless, the incident seemingly didn't hold him back, as according to Chron, he was already working on new music from his hospital bed. As seen in another video shared on Instagram, Forrest Frank could be seen sporting chunky white headphones and told his followers he'd spent the last 2.5 hours singing and recording music on his MacBook. A part of the song goes:

“God’s got my back/ Even when I fall or get attacked/ God’s got my back/ Even when I’m low and full of lack/ God’s got my back/ Even when my soul is full of sorrow/ I don’t have to worry about tomorrow/ Why’s that?/ ’Cause God’s got my… Back. Back/ Back right there never left/ I could feel your presence in every single breath/ Sometimes we just gotta take a rest/ Flowers like to bloom in the season that is best.”

In another video, Forrest Frank said that the accident took place while hanging out with his son, Brodie. He also shared a video of his wife, Grace, helping him in the aftermath of his fall.

The crooner has long used his own life as an inspiration for his music. During a previous interview with The Christian Post, Forrest Frank revealed that his hit single Good Day was a reflection of one of the hardest parts of his life:

“Three days after that song came out, I went through the hardest trial of my life,” he said. “It was really interesting that God would give me a song that says, ‘I'm about to have a good day no matter what trial is going on,’ and then I had the hardest trial of my life … someone wronged me and stole something from me that I was never going to get back.”

Earlier this year at the GMA Dove Awards, Forrest Frank was honored with the New Artist of the Year title, while his Good Day breakout single was honored with the Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year award.

“I feel so undeserving of this award,” he said during his acceptance speech. “I actually was curious if I was even gonna come to an award show for Christian music because it’s all for Him. Everything I do is for the Lord. For whatever reason, He’s chosen to give me some songs that have related to some people,” he continued. “If He shuts it off and doesn’t give me any more songs, that’s cool. If He continues to bless it, that’s great. I want to continue to give Jesus glory. My name will fade away just like all of ours one day, but at the end of time and for all of eternity, one name will remain: Jesus Christ.”
