Pedro Pascal is drawing the ire of the internet as a viral video of him caressing Willem Dafoe's wife Giada Colagrande's chin goes viral.
In the January 2024 encounter, the Fantastic Four star can be seen kneeling alongside Dafoe as they strike a pose for the paps. The incident took place during the latter's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. However, upon getting up, he turns to Colagrande and strokes her chin, directly in front of Dafoe, for a few seconds. The latter's expression seemingly changed upon noticing this gesture.
For the unversed, Giada Colagrande is an Italian film director, screenwriter, and actress. She has several film credits to her name, including 2005's Before It Had a Name, which she co-wrote and also starred in alongside her husband. The pair reportedly met on the set of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and tied the knot in 2005.
In his 2009 interview with The Guardian, Dafoe said of the moment he asked his wife to marry him:
“We were having lunch and I said: ‘Do you want to get married tomorrow?’” “I called up City Hall and they said: ‘If you get here in the next couple of hours, you can register and then you can get married tomorrow.’”
And so, their nuptials were intimate:
“We ran down there. We married the next day with just two witnesses, our best friends: my manager and her editor.”
Pedro Pascal opens up about tackling anxiety, says he needs his loved ones for the added support
As reported by the Daily Mail, the internet has been slamming Pedro Pascal's behavior as of late, and this has only intensified in the wake of his Fantastic Four: First Steps press run. In it, he portrays Reed Richards alongside Vanessa Kirby, who plays his wife, Storm.
The pair has seemingly grown closer since filming began, with the two constantly showing support to each other across several occasions. Just last week, during an interview with Buzzfeed, the actress was seen resting her arm on Pedro Pascal as she stroked his beard.
In another event a few weeks ago, during the premiere of their movie in Los Angeles, The Mandalorian star was seen caressing The Crown actress's baby bump on the red carpet. While some have been scrutinising their bond, fans of the two were quick to point out that it could just be Kirby trying to ease Pascal's anxiety.
They have long been vocal about the same, as Kirby told Vanity Fair last year about holding hands with Pedro Pascal at San Diego Comic-Con:
"What happened is we were both incredibly nervous going out in front of thousands of people who love this comic. He wanted me to know that we were in this together, and I found it a lovely gesture and was very glad to squeeze his hand back."
Pedro Pascal also opened up to Men's Health about his struggles in an article that came out Wednesday:
"I notice, especially during this period of the summer 2020, and the kind of isolation and how long my FaceTimes were, and my phone conversations, that I had started to make an effort to engage more, having previously lost that option in many ways.”
He added:
"I can think back on high school, and college, and I was always such a talker with friends. Conversations on the phone, and then I don’t know how many days had gone by where we stopped doing that."
Pascal noticed that engaging with people eased him during the pandemic, during which time he also built strong connections, ones that he has since held “onto." He also got candid about the other futile ways he tried to manage his anxiety:
"I was always one to reach out when I’m facing something that is challenging or making me anxious,” Pedro Pascal added. “I definitely kind of stopped doing that, and instead I’m doomscrolling, or looking for something to watch; looking for different ways to disassociate from the feeling I’m having."
He stated that when he “started to feel so critical” of himself during tense moments, he realized that he could fall back on his loved ones for support:
“I had to go back to what was always the comfort for me in life, which was engagement in my relationships, my friendships, and conversation and shared experience.”
Pedro Pascal is most known for starring in the HBO series The Last of Us, though he has also made several appearances in 2025 films like Ari Aster’s Eddington and Celine Song’s The Materialists.
