Hamish Steele is a London-based animation director, comic-book creator and TV writer, best known for creating Dead End.

Steele's comments on late political activist and Trump ally, Charlie Kirk, has caused a mass Netflix boycott campaign on social media.

Users took to social media platforms with screenshots of their cancelled Netflix account.

While Steele has since locked his X account, screenshots of his comments have surfaced on the internet. Steele responded to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's post where he paid homage to Kirk and said:

"Why the f*** are you even commenting, d**khead? Your sympathy for any of the families being affected by your weapons, but a random N*zi gets shot and it's a public statement. You're such a f***ing evil sh**."

Elon Musk also responded to a post by former Department Energy nuclear scientist Matt Von Swol, who accused Netflix of pushing pro-trans content, and said:

"Just cancelled my Netflix subscription. If you employ someone who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk and makes content that pushes pro-trans content on my kids...you will NEVER get a dime of my money."

Musk responded to the post and said, "Same." Elon Musk also called Steele "a groomer" while commenting under a post by Libs of Tik Tok which mentioned that the creator of the show is the same person who "mocked" Charlie Kirk.

Why are netizens cancelling Hamish Steele's Dead End?

Netizens took to social media platforms after Hamish Steele's comments on Charlie Kirk went viral and alleged that his comics, which served as an inspiration behind the Netflix adaptation promotes transgenderism in kids.

The series which was launched in 2021 features Barry Guttman who is described as a "gay transgender teen boy" and his dog Pugsley, who becomes possessed by the demon "Temeluchus."

Netflix had earlier cancelled the show in January, 2023 after streaming two seasons. X users criticized the streaming platforn for reportedly promoting transgender messages in their show, and claimed that such themes should be kept away from children.

Hamish Steele is not the only personality who has received backlash for his comments against Charlie Kirk.

Recently, DC canceled Gretchen Felker-Martin's Red Hood series, and Stephen King was forced to apologize after posting claims about Kirk. Michael Keaton and Ava Raine also received backlash for their comments and Star Trek actor Tim Russ came under fire for mocking Kirk's death.

Jimmy Kimmel's show was cancelled for a week, after his comments on Kirk went viral.
