Jeff Dye, a stand-up comedian best known for his appearance on the 2015 Comedy Central show This is Not Happening, recently spoke about his decision to leave Los Angeles and move to Texas.
According to Fox News, Dye, who appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on November 2, explained that the way the Palisades wildfires were handled by the authorities, along with the reforms enacted by Governor Gavin Newsom, were instrumental in his decision. He said:
"I’m kind of in this kind of LA thing, and I could be guilty of being a victim of what I’m absorbing in my algorithm. But Gavin Newsom scares the s*it out of me and I don’t want to be a part of it."
Jeff Dye, who, according to his IMDB profile, has appeared in movies and TV shows like The Wedding Year, The 60 Yard Line, and has also been nominated along with other cast members of 1/2 New York for a FirstGlance Award in 2019, elaborated further on his decision during his conversation with Joe Rogan. He said:
"Those fires were quite a wake-up call. Even if, you know, whatever you believe about the fires, the way it was dealt with was pretty scary."
