Here's what we know about Jeremy Renner and Sonni Pacheco's messy separation
Their wedding was a short-lived and turbulent relationship. Following a legal battle, they have been sharing custody of their daughter, Ava. According to a People Magazine report, Jeremy was paying $13,000 every month for child support. However, the monetary exchange witnessed a change after the actor's income increased exponentially, with his inclusion in the iconic Marvel franchise. With an income of $11.4 million, he paid $292,000 in child support in 2018.
The custody litigation took a new turn in September 2019, with Sonni Pacheco filing a request to get her daughter's sole legal and physical custody. Additionally, she desired that visits between Renner and their daughter be supervised. She requested these in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
To strengthen the case in her favor, Sonni shocked everyone by revealing to the court how Jeremy abused her, took drugs, stole her identification documents, fired a gun with their daughter in the same room, and more accusations, per a South China Morning Post report.
She informed the Los Angeles County Superior Court about a stormy incident claiming the Wind River actor left cocaine on the bathroom counter, and unfortunately, it was accessible to their little child.
According to The List, Renner also revealed an accusation against Sonni Pacheco and stated that she dealt with issues concerning drugs. Per TMZ, the actor further claimed that his ex-wife made allegations against him to extort as much money as she could.

In an official statement, his lawyer reacted to the allegations. He stated,
"The well-being of his daughter, Ava, has always been and continues to be the primary focus for Jeremy. This is a matter for the court to decide. It’s important to note the dramatizations made in Sonni’s declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind."
Amid all the chaos and differences in opinions between them, Ava is both Jeremy Renner and Sonni Pacheco's top priority.
Over a decade ago, rumors were spread targeting Jeremy's sexuality. Though he prefers to keep his personal life extremely private, he expressed his thoughts on the controversial headlines during a conversation with Playboy magazine. He revealed,
"I'm not going to try to prove what I am or am not. It's silly, right? When you Google yourself and the first thing that comes up is 'Jeremy Renner gay,' it's like, 'Oh, now you've arrived. You're now a giant star.'"
While clarifying the speculations, the star also added that he stopped caring about these remarks.
"I don't care, ultimately, if that's what people want to think, read and care about. F**k say whatever the hell you want about me."
He also pointed out how he could not understand how "being gay is a terrible thing" and considered negative.
