Jim Ward was a prolific American voice actor, radio personality, and camera operator. Ward is well known for his roles like Captain Quark in Ratchet & Clank, Doug Dimmadome and Chet Ubetcha in The Fairly OddParents, and the River Spirit in Spirited Away. Ward passed away on December 10, 2025, at 66. News of his death was first shared by Stephanie Miller of The Stephanie Miller Show, who announced the news on X, saying,

"One of the saddest messages I have ever received from the amazing Mrs. Jim Ward: 'Our wonderful 'voice deity' as Steph annointed Jim Ward, passed away today at 10:45 AM. Can you let Steph know? Thanks, Janice"

From 2004 - 2017, Ward was the co-host of The Stephanie Miller Show, a radio talk show that features several of Ward's impersonations of political figures, celebrities, and news makers.

Jim Ward was born as James Kevin Ward in May 1959 in New York City. Ward gained recognition for his voice-over career in animation and video games such as Captain Qwark and the Ratchet & Clank franchise. In 2006, Ward played Eyemore, Crusher, and Stoker in Biker Mice from Mars, which was a remake of the 1990s series of the same name. His work on the series earned him a Daytime Emmy Award in 2009 for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program.

Ward's voice became familiar in several projects, including Justice League Action, Despicable Me, Star Wars, Spider-Man, Star Trek, EJ, Ellen, and more.

In 2021, news headlines mentioned that Ward had developed symptoms of a precocious form of Alzheimer's Disease and contracted a severe case of COVID-19, which led him to discontinue his voice acting career.
