NBA player Tyrese Haliburton, son of John Haliburton, couldn't be more blessed to have parents like John and Brenda Haliburton, who completely supported him when it came to playing professional basketball. Interestingly, it was his father, John Haliburton, who taught him how to play basketball and always motivated him, while his mother encouraged him since he was a young boy.

The 25-year-old Indiana Pacers guard, Tyrese, in a recent game against the New York Knicks, showcased an exceptional performance with his father, John Haliburton, in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena. While the Pacers won the match, Tyrese became the first NBA player with 10 rebounds, at least 30 points, 15 assists, and zero turnovers in a postseason game.

It was a big deal for the junior Haliburton to have his father watch the match and support him, as his father was previously banned by the NBA and was not allowed to attend any of the Pacers' games.

68-year-old John Haliburton, who shares Tyrese with his wife Brenda, is a former women's basketball coach and a basketball referee. It was John who, according to Tyrese, "put the ball in his hand". John not only taught him how to play the game but also helped improve his basketball skills. On one of the episodes of Inside the NBA, John was asked about his dynamic with his son while he was teaching him to play the game. John Haliburton said:

"Tyrese has always been the type of kid that you didn’t really have to push him because he had the desire from inside. All you had to do was direct him [and] let him do his thing."

The former basketball coach, John Haliburton, who was previously banned by the NBA for a heated incident that took place during one of his son's games, has again been allowed by the NBA to attend Pacers' games, as they lifted the ban on him. John was banned by the NBA specifically for running onto the basketball court and shouting at Giannis Antetokounmpo (one of the Bucks' players) during a match between the Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks, when his son, Tyrese, made a last-second layup in overtime and defeated the Bucks.

Instead of being with a huge crowd at the Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden, Tyrese Haliburton was drafted virtually while wearing a nice suit due to the Coronavirus pandemic. 2020 was the year when COVID-19 hit the world, and most things happened virtually. Tyrese was in his living room, along with his parents, John Haliburton and Brenda, when he was drafted. His brothers and his girlfriend were also present.

Brenda and John, regarding their son getting drafted into the NBA, said:

"It’s still amazing. It’s been his dream his whole life. I mean, just to see him achieve that was awesome. Did I just hear them say Tyrese Haliburton? My baby just did exactly what he said he was going to do ... play in the NBA."
