The Colombian singer shares an affectionate bond with her parents and her sisters. She acknowledged them for their unwavering support in several interviews and events over the last years.

About her parents, Guillermo Giraldo and Martha Navarro

Guillermo and Martha are proud parents to three daughters, Verónica, Jessica, and Karol. Giraldo, popularly called Papá G, also shares a daughter, Katherin, with his former partner.

Giraldo is himself a musician, and Karol followed her father's footsteps to achieve her dreams. However, as time passed, he stopped playing in his band and put all his concentration into uplifting his daughter's career.

At one point in time in 2012, the renowned artist thought of pursuing a marketing degree in New York and leaving her career, per The New York Times. However, Papa G was against this decision and did not talk to Karol for three months.

Remembering that incident, the Amargura singer said,

"He was like, 'No, you can’t do that. You are throwing away seven years of our hard work. I know who you are. I know we can get it. It’s hard, but when we get it, it’s going to be bigger than the rest.'"
