David Del Rio, who is married to actress Katherine Del Rio has reportedly been fired from the hit CBS show "Matlock"following allgegations of s*xual assault against a fellow cast member. According to US Weekly, David Del Rio, who played the role of first-year associate, Billy Martinez, was involved in an alleged incident with actress Leah Lewis, who portrays Sarah Franklin.
The descision regarding his firing was made public recently, but according to reports, the incident took place last month, on September 26. According to Deadline, CBS Studios launched an internal investigation into the matter, soon after which David Del Rio was fired from the show and escorted off the set, last week on October 2. Although, David has not commented on the matter, his wife, Katherine Del Rio, to whom he has been married since 2018, had previously posted a now-deleted close-up picture of Leah Lewis on her Instagram Stories, writing "This is the most disturbing human being I have ever met."

Katherine Del Rio or Katherine Wallce, as she was formerly known, was born in Auerbach, Germany, on December 10, 1990, but her family later moved to the US. According to her LinkedIn profile, she attended the prestigious Tisch School of Arts, from where she graduated with a Fine Arts degree, specializing in acting. She also won the Best Performance Award at Tisch 48 Film Festival.
In her 2023 interview with Voyage Austin, Katherine spoke about her experience attending the program and how it continues to influence her today. She said:
"My creative roots stem from performing in regional theater in D.C. and the Midwest. I studied acting at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University with The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. I was proud to attend that program because I thought it would be impossible to get accepted. I absolutely loved NYU and New York City; I learned so much there and got to act with so many wonderful people."
After graduating, Katherine Del Rio began working as an actress with MTV Networks. She later worked as a writer at Axess Grafx from 2012 till 2014. According to her IMDB profile, she has appeared in several projects that include "Awkward," "The Big Feed," "Rapper's Delight," "Last Hurrah" and many others.
Katherine met her now-husband, when he was performing in a production by Lin Manuel Miranda. According to US Weekly, she became a fan of his, after watching him on stage. She later reconnected with him at a party in Los Angeles years later. The pair dated for some time before tying the knot in April 2018. Since then, David and Katherine Del Rio have welcomed two children. In an interview, the "Sick For Toys" actress recalled the way she met her future husband and said:
"Who knew that seven years ago, when we saw that show and got tickets on a whim ... that was going to be the guy you marry [and] have kids with."
Katherine Del Rio also co-founded her own Austin-based production company, Theatre Row, a venture that she started with her husband. In her interview with Voyage Austin, she explained the inspiration behind starting the company, and said:
"Having more control of my career feels empowering, rather than having to wait for an opportunity. Don’t get me wrong, there is still plenty of waiting involved as a writer/producer, but I am always working on something, which is a wonderful feeling."
In addition to acting, Katherine Del Rio currently works as a chef. She opened her own business, Katherine Del Rio personal Chef Services, in 2016. As per her interview with Voyage Austin, she began working as a personal chef to several celebrities, including the Jonas Brothers. However, it is not known if she continues to hold that position.
Actress Leah Lewis has released a statement of her own following the news of David Del Rio's exit from the show being made public. In her statement, she thanked fans for their support, adding that she is being supported by her mother and that they are "moving forward in strength."
