Former Canadian hockey star Evan Brooks Laich, commonly known as Brooks Laich, couldn't be more excited as he welcomed their first child with Katrin Tanja Davíðsdóttir. The couple, both of whom are athletes, announced on October 15, 2025, that they welcomed their first baby daughter on October 6. Laich and Davíðsdóttir have named their baby daughter Emberly Heba Laich.

According to People, the 42-year-old Brooks, before tying the knot with Katrin Tanja Davíðsdóttir, was previously married to the American dancer and singer, Julianne Hough, from 2017 to 2020. They began dating in 2014. However, as per reports, Laich and Davíðsdóttir sparked romance rumors in 2020.

Eventually, they made their relationship public in August 2021, officially announcing their romance on Instagram. Brooks also praised Katrin in an Instagram post after she competed at the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin. He wrote:

"So proud of the way she competed this weekend, which was the expression of the hard work she put in to be here. Rest assured the next time she takes the field, I will be there watching — bearing witness to one of the greatest competitors I have ever met!"

While netizens are aware that Brooks Laich is a prominent former NHL star player, who was a forward for teams such as the Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Los Angeles Kings, they are curious to learn about Katrin Tanja Davíðsdóttir.

Katrin Tanja Davíðsdóttir is a 32-year-old Icelandic athlete and a four-time veteran of the CrossFit Games. She is originally from the capital city of Reykjavik, Iceland. Davíðsdóttir has also been a track athlete and a gymnast. Not to mention, she also won the title of Fittest Woman on Earth in 2015.

It was on May 4, 2025, that the couple first revealed in an Instagram post that Davíðsdóttir was expecting. Brooks and Katrin shared a carousel post with a caption that read:

"Our greatest blessing 🤍🫶🏼✨ Baby Laich coming this fall. Mom & Dad can’t wait to meet you, our little one!!!!!!"

However, following the arrival of their daughter, Emberly Heba, Brooks and Katrin took to Instagram to share the news on October 15. In a joint carousel post, the couple shared a photo with a caption that read:

"Our hearts are overflowing with love as we welcome our daughter into this world. Becoming her parents has been the greatest gift we ever could have imagined - our precious, peaceful, powerful little girl who was born under the full supermoon."

The couple further added:

"Our world is forever brighter with you in it, our Emberly ❤️".
