Former NBA star and ESPN SportsCenter analyst Kendrick Perkins left his colleague red-faced at their recent interaction on air. In conversation with SportsCenter's Elle Duncan hours before the NBA's opening night, Perkins reportedly made a distasteful pun. As he joined the host Duncan in the proceedings, she began with a joke on Perkins' name (sic),

“You know, when you work at ESPN, talking to Kendrick is one of the Perk-s...”

To which Perkins was quick to respond with a seemingly dr*gs related pun,

“What you need Ibuprofen for when you can have a Perk...”

The interaction was soon viral on X (formerly known as Twitter),

While the two laughed the matter off later, the comments on the viral video prompted Duncan to 'clear the air'. Responding to the clip, she wrote (sic),

“lol yo the comments are wild. I used a Perk idiom at the beginning of the segment (like I always do) and this was him trying to top it. He’s big bruh and my FAVE. there was no shot shotted...”

Kendrick Perkins has spent 14 seasons in the NBA and has been married to Texas-born Vanity Alpough.

Who is Kendrick Perkins’ wife?

Vanity Alpough and former NBA player Kendrick Perkins met while in high school and dated for several years before marrying in 2009. The couple shares four children.

She attended high school locally in southeast Texas alongside her now-husband. Later, she reportedly pursued higher education at the University of Houston and Middlesex University College in the UK, but her studies were interrupted by Perkins’ demanding professional lifestyle.

However, once the Kendrink Perkins was off the court, Vanity launched an online retail business specializing in ladies’ hair and accessories called Vanity Forever. She later developed a real estate career with Keller Williams Realty in Texas. In a 2020 interview with Hype Magazine, she explained,

“I did open something in Oklahoma, and we got traded … so that’s why I never wanted to do anything like that until he retired, and we were home, and I knew we would be here.”

Although maintaining a low profile on social media, Alpough has supported Perkins in his public life, especially after he hung his basketball shoes. Aside from her other ventures, Alpough also reportedly launched a dating application named WinknLink in 2021.
