The British Formula One star, Lando Norris, recently made headlines as he was booed by the crowd following his Mexican Grand Prix win. The 25-year-old Lando, who was the runner-up in the 2024 F1 World Drivers' Championship, took the victory from his team-mate Oscar Piastri on October 26, 2025. According to The Race, while Norris was taken aback by the unexpected and unusual reaction of the crowd after his win on Sunday, October 26, he stated that he had no clue why the crowd behaved in such a manner.
Amid Lando Norris's recent victory, his fans and other Formula One enthusiasts became interested in his personal life, primarily to learn more about his girlfriend, Margarida Corceiro. According to Tatler, the 23-year-old Corceiro is a Portuguese actress and model, who Forbes Portugal named one of the most influential people on Instagram.
According to Tatler, Margarida and Lando Norris were first rumored to be romantically involved in 2023. Following that, they had an on-again, off-again relationship, eventually confirming their romance in 2025. The couple reunited and confirmed their romantic relationship publicly at the 2025 Hungary Grand Prix. Corceiro, who has 2.1 million followers on Instagram and 828,000 followers on TikTok, began her acting career quite early at the age of 17.
She has appeared in Portuguese TV shows and was also a part of a dance reality show in 2020. Margarida is also the co-founder of Missus, an eco-conscious swimwear brand.
Lando Norris states he has no clue why he was booed after winning the Mexican Grand Prix

According to The Race, the McLaren driver Lando Norris revealed that he has no idea why the crowd at the Mexican Grand Prix booed him after he won the race. Following the October 26 race, Norris said:
"I don't know why, to be honest. And people can do what they want honestly. They have the right to do it if they want to do it. I think that's sport sometimes. I don't know why – [but] I can't stop laughing when I get booed. I think it makes it more entertaining for me."
He went ahead and said:
"It was the same in Monza and a few other places. So, yeah, I don't know why. I just can't stop laughing. So if they want to continue, they can…"
During a conversation with Carlos Jalife, a Mexican journalist from FASTmag, after the race, he informed Lando Norris that the crowd's unusual reaction toward him was a result of McLaren's team orders controversy from the Italian Grand Prix. The crowd wasn't quite happy when Oscar Piastri was ordered to leave the track position to Norris following a slow pit-stop, which held back Lando during the closing stages. Carlos Jalife explained:
"We did a poll that you're being given the championship. That's why the booing is coming."
Jalife continued:
"We asked: What should Lando do? And they said, 'return the three points'. That was the question that got the most percentage of the answers. So basically, that's the background of the booing in Mexico. I don't know about any other places. So would you be willing to return those three points?"
While Lando Norris was surprised to find out why the crowd reacted in such a manner, he went ahead and said:
"Sure if they want to think that, they certainly have the right to. They can think whatever they want. I guess from us as a team of course we try and do things fairly. That was the comment we made back then."
Norris continued:
"The same two years ago in Budapest, when I could have won the race and had to let Oscar back through and let him win the race. He deserved to win. It was no different to that. Really."
He further added:
"To be honest, if you want to have the three points they can, but you know, they have the right to think whatever they want. Oscar deserved the win last year in Budapest. I deserve to be ahead in Monza, simple as that."
