On September 22, 2025, Lee Weaver, the actor known for his roles in the Bill Cosby Show and O Brother, Where Art Thou?, died at the age of 95, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

His television and film career lasted almost 60 years, and he was a recognizable figure to many viewers. In addition to acting, Lee Weaver was also known for his long marriage to actress Ta-Tanisha.

Lee Weaver and Ta-Tanisha had a close personal and professional relationship that had lasted for more than five decades. They got married on July 12, 1972, and remained together until he died. The couple shared one daughter, Leis La-Te.


Lee Weaver's wife, Ta-Tanisha’s early life and acting career

Ta-Tanisha, born Shirley Cummings, is an American actress known for her work in film and television during the 1960s and 1970s. She gained recognition for her character in the popular series Room 222, in which she featured as a student named Pam.

Besides the appearance of Room 222, Ta-Tanisha appeared in smaller roles on several popular television shows. Her credits include appearances in Sanford and Son, Mission: Impossible, and Good Times.

She has also volunteered in the community theater and several educational programs over time.
