WWE juggernaut Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71.
TMZ Sports broke the news that the wrestling champion was rushed out of his home on a stretcher as first responders arrived at the scene following reports of a "cardiac arrest." A fleet of police cars and EMTs was stationed outside Hogan's home in Clearwater, Florida, the report states.
As of this writing, his cause of death remains unclear, and his family, including his ex-wife, Linda Hogan, son, Nick, and daughter, Brooke, have yet to issue a statement. Linda is most known for her role on the American reality television show Hogan Knows Best.
She reportedly met Hogan in LA, and after two years of a long-distance relationship, they got married in 1983. Over the years, they welcomed their two kids, though by November 20, 2007, Linda filed for divorce. The proceedings came to an end when their separation was finalized on July 28, 2009.
She is known for her appearance on Hulk Hogan's 1995 album Hulk Rules, as she lent her vocals as the back-up alongside The Wrestling Boot Band. She also wrote a memoir in 2011 titled Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes.
Linda and Hulk Hogan's marriage and divorce, explored
As reported yesterday by Page Six, Linda reminisced about “the good old days” with her estranged husband just four days before he died. She took to Instagram on July 19 to share a throwback photo of her and the late wrestler, where she could be seen clad in a black gown with her arms around Hogan. Per the outlet, the photo was taken at the N.A.T.P.E. Convention in Las Vegas.
“The good old days !” she captioned the photo.
Just this March, as reported by The Daily Mail, Linda Hogan took to social media to launch an attack against her ex-husband. In a video she shared, she accused him of being a "complete liar" and a "s*x addict." However, she shocked the world days later when she jumped to his defense.
Later that week, despite slamming Hulk Hogan for being "a s****y husband," she insisted that he was "always a good father," she told TMZ, who spent "over $3million" on his daughter Brooke's career.
Nonetheless, she has long voiced scrutiny towards her estranged husband. Back in August 2009, Linda sat down for an appearance on Good Morning America, where she opened up about her divorce. At the time, she cited Hulk Hogan's affair with Brooke's best friend for their breakup.
"There were infidelities. It scared me because I thought 'Oh my God, is that my fault? Is he moving on? Am I just a dumb housewife? Am I too fat, am I too dumb?' You just start doubting yourself and that was really sad," Hogan, then 49, said.
ABC News reported at the time that Hulk Hogan conceded to philandering, though he maintained that his wife was "irrevocably broken and over" by then.
"We all worked really hard and way too much to the point where we really didn't have any emotion left. We were just robots functioning on a weird level," Linda Hogan said in her interview.
Following his marriage to Linda, Hogan moved on to Jennifer McDaniel, whom he married in 2010. They were married for 11 years before they parted ways. By 2023, Hogan married his third wife, Sky Daily. Stay tuned to SoapCentral for more.
