Who is Lindsay Shookus? Ben Affleck’s ex attends Jennifer Lopez's ex Alex Rodriguez's NYC documentary premiere

Lindsay Shookus is an Emmy-nominated producer who is also known for her relationship with Ben Affleck.

She was recently spotted at the premiere of Alex Rodriguez's documentary. According to Daily Mail, Alex Rodriguez was previously in a relationship with Jennifer Lopez, who in turn was married to Ben Affleck from 2022 until their separation in 2024. Lindsay previously worked on SNL for several years, until she left the show after twenty years in 2022.

Alex vs. A-Rod, which is produced by HBO, is a three-part docu-series that follows the life of former MLB star, and is set to release later this week on November 6. The premiere, which took place at DGA Theatre in New York City, saw Shookus, who has been friends with Alex Rodriguez for several years, appear on the red carpet in an all-black outfit.

Lindsay Shookus, whose full name is Lindsay Anne Shookus, was born on June 18, 1980 in Williamsville, New York. According to New York Times, her mother Christine Shookus worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative, while her father Robert Shookus owned a manufacturers representative business. She and her two other siblings attended Williamsville South High School.

According to Elle Magazine, Lindsay Shookus attended University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, graduating with a degree in journalism in 2002. Soon after graduating, Shookus moved New York, where a a few weeks later, she landed a gig working as an assistant to SNL producer Marci Klein. In her appearance on The False Tradeoff podcast hosted by Allison Whalen, Shookus spoke about her first role as an assistant. She said:

"I want to be very clear I didn't start as a producer. I started as an assistant to a producer when I was 22. I always laugh like I moved to New York without a job and five weeks later I started as an assistant at SNL. So to me, the beginning was just a little bit like, how is this a job? Like, why didn't anyone tell me you could aim for this? Cause it really was, I always say like a little bit of luck and a little bit of drive that landed me there."

Lindsay Shookus soon rose through ranks at SNL and was assigned duties to search for new talent to join the show. She was the one who discovered the-then relatively unknown comedian Kristen Wiig back in 2005. In an interview with Elle Magazine, Shookus spoke about her early days at SNL, and said:

"Very early on, Marci let me interact with talent and take over more responsibilities. She just really liked me and she thought I was good. I think I came at the right moment at SNL. There was a space for me, and I was good at it."

In 2008, Shookus was appointed associate producer of SNL, and in 2012 she was appointed as the head of the talent department after Marci Klein left the show. Apart from her work on SNL, she has also worked as a producer on the Emmy-winning show 30 Rock, from 2008 till 2010. Lindsay Shookus has received multiple awards, including four Emmys, and in 2015, she was named as one of The 50 Most Powerful Music Executives by Billboard.

Shookus was previously married to fellow producer Kevin Miller. The couple met during their time at SNL and later tied the knot in 2010. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2013, but they later divorced a year later in 2014. She later started dating Ben Affleck in 2017. The couple were together for two years until their break-up in 2019.

Most recently, Lindsay Shookus founded Women Work F#cking Hard, an networking community to help other women with their buisness by creating networking opportunities.
