Who is Mallory Loving? Rick Derringer’s daughter pays tribute to Legendary guitarist

Mallory Loving, who also goes by the name Mallory Urban Derringer, is the only daughter of rock guitarist Rick Derringer and his second wife, Dyane Buckelew. She recently posted a tribute to her father in light of his death. According to The Washington Post, Rick Derringer, who was 77 years old at the time of his death, had been diagnosed with diabetes and had undergone triple bypass surgery back in February.

According to the New York Post, Rick Derringer passed away in his sleep on Monday with his wife, Jenda Derringer, by his side.

Rick Derringer's career spanned decades, starting back in the 60s, when he rose to fame as one part of the four-member band, The McCoys, who went on to produce hits like Hang on Sloopy, I can't Explain It, and Walk, Don't Run. His work as a producer on Yankovic's single, "Eat It," which was a parody of Michael Jackson's "Beat It, won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Recording.

In light of the recent death of her father, Mallory Loving posted a short and sweet tribute to her father on Tuesday on her Instagram. She wrote:

"I love you Dad."

In her post, Mallory Loving, who, according to her bio on her Instagram, works as a licensed esthetician, posted several pictures with her father, from her childhood, as well as two from the day of her wedding, presumably from the moment of her father-daughter dance.

According to the short bio on her Instagram, Mallory Loving is also a lash artist, makeup artist, and beautician working at the Bliss Beauty Day Spa in Connecticut. According to the spa's website, Mallory Loving graduated from River Valley Esthetics Institute in Connecticut, where she was selected to be part of the Assistant Instructor Program, and later achieved certification in two lash lift courses.

According to Billboard, Mallory Loving was born in 1992 to Rick Derringer and backup singer and musician Dyane Buckelew, in Georgetown, South Carolina. Her parents were married in the 1980s and later divorced sometime after her birth.

In 2022, Molloy Loving married a guitarist, named Cody, who owns Tone Wise Productions, a company specializing in guitar gear. In September 2023, Mallory posted a picture from the day of her wedding, writing:

"We made it through the first year of marriage. Happy anniversary my sweet, sassy husband @cu_soundwaves✨I love you. Thank you for fall you do to keep us happy, healthy feeling loves. I can't wait to see where we will be in the next 10 years."

Mallory's husband also posted a throwback picture with Rick Derringer, and in the caption, he reminisced about the first time he met Rick Derringer and how his feedback helped him grow as a musician. He wrote:

"Dug this photo all the way back from one of the first times I met my father in law. Rick has and continues to be a huge influence on my playing. He always spent the time to listen to what I was working on and give me the honest feedback I needed as a growing musician. I’ll miss the stories, the riffs, the laughs, but mostly how welcomed you always made me feel."
