To be welcomed into your homes night after night, delivering the news / meeting extraordinary people and telling their stories.”The post continued:“I’ll leave filled with gratitude, cherished relationships and amazing memories. A couple weeks to go; until then, see you on The CBS Evening News every night at 6:30.”Maurice is married to Andrea Adair. The couple has two sons. Host Kristine Johnson said that it was the “end of a chapter” for DuBois, but she was happy that he was starting a new one. She went on:“And I have to say, you know, 14 of those years he sat here with us at five o'clock and it was nice knowing that he was just down the hall for the past year. So, for him to actually move out of the building, it's a different sense and I would just like to say that he really elevated my game. He really did. He’s a friend first and foremost.”President of CBS, Tom Cibrowski, shared his thoughts about Maurice DuBois’s exit, writing:“Maurice is deeply valued and respected as a journalist by all of us and we wish him much success. It is my hope that we can work together again. We will have more details on the next chapter of CBS Evening News in the near future.”Maurice DuBois talks about John Dickerson and the advice from his fatherIn April 2025, Maurice DuBois appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Colbert recalled that Kristine Johnson once said that she and DuBois had a good bond and they communicated without words. He asked if he had the same rapport with John Dickerson, who also exited CBS recently. Maurice responded:“You know what? We're getting there. He and I kind of look at each other and kind of go 'I don't know.' We've developed.”Speaking about Dickerson, he mentioned:“He's a guy I just met four months ago. And we've developed a nice relationship where we laugh at the same stuff. We finish each other's sentences, believe it or not. Kind of weird, but it's true. But it helps, right? You develop a kind of a rapport.”Maurice DuBois talked about his dad and said that his father was usually calm and serious. They had faced many big moments in life together, but he had never seen his dad get emotional until this one time when he shared the news of taking over the CBS Evening News. His dad was the person who suggested him to try a journalism class in high school. He took the class, really liked it, and that started his whole career. Also Read: Gayle King shuts down CBS departure rumors
