NBA YoungBoy's mother, Sherhonda Gaulden, who previously for some time worked in stand-up comedy, recently took to social media to call out a fan who had posted a picture of them together, suggesting that posing with that fan allegedly made her look bad. According to Hot New Hip Hop, Sherhonda Gaulden said in the now-deleted video uploaded on social media that the fan apparently made look "dirty," a comment that had angered many of her followers. She said:
"This is why I don’t like taking pictures. Look at this dirty dirt diver. She makes me look dirty like her and I would have b.... her a.. if she would’ve tried me.”
NBA YoungBoy, who rose to fame in 2014 after releasing his mixtape titled "Life Before Fame," was pardoned by President Donald Trump earlier this year in May. According to USA Today, the rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Glauden, was previously convicted for his involvement in gun-related charges and was sentenced to house arrest in 2021. He remained under house arrest until 2024, during which he was convicted once again for running an illegal prescription drug ring from his home.
However, he was able to avoid prison time for this specific charge as part of a plea deal, according to USA Today. According to The Advocate, he was sentenced to almost two years in prison last November for possession of a firearm despite his previous record.

NBA YoungBoy was born on 20 October 1999 to parents Sherhonda Gaulden and Jeffrey Staden. According to Famous Birthdays, Sherhonda Glauden, born on 7 October 1974 in Louisiana, previously worked as a cashier at ExxonMobil for four years until 2011.
According to the outlet, she later started working as a stand-up comedian. In a video posted last year in December, the "Bandit" singer's mother claimed that despite loving to work, she does not do so due to security reasons. According to Hot New Hip Hop, she said that she missed working but could no longer work because everyone recognized her due to NBA YoungBoy's fame. She said:
"You rich.' Baby, I ain't rich. My child rich. My child do. But you know what? I swear to God and hope to die: I'm not no money person. I don't care about money. As long as my bills paid, that's all I want. I don't ask for no jewelry, I don't ask for no cars, I don't ask for money for trips, I don't care about none of that [...]"
She further added:
"I want a job... I swear to god I wish I could work. I miss work so bad... I don't like nobody giving me nothing. Everywhere people know me. People known me everywhere I go."
Sherhonda Glauden, featured in NBA YoungBoy's 2020 song "Bout My Business," is a proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren from her son alone and has an active social media presence with her larger-than-life personality. In an interview with Nolazine, Glauden talked about raising her three children on her own, with the help of her own mother. She said:
"I was twenty five when I had Kentrell...I mean it was hard, when I went to work my mama always watched my children for me. Like if they got in trouble in school when Inwas at work, my Mama had my back. It's good to have a support system."
NBA YoungBoy, who released his latest album titled "Make America Slime Again" on 4 July, following his release after his Presidential pardon, is set to go on tour in September with his first performance starting in Dallas.
